What this bit of rubbish?  "I have, proof based on amarals treatise on proving things... It's pretty pathetic and full of holes... But acceptable to sceptics on the forum and most of the population  of Portugal  according to sil"  That isn't proof IMO.

You need to read the post in context

yeah? ok  but we would like to hear your circumstantial evidence first as you have claimed.. we will wait for the 'proof' you have to be explained by OG and PJ.

Claiming is one thing doing is a horse of an entirely different colour.

Precisely... Amaral claimed he would.... And failed

How much does your opinion count for in Portugal?  Thus far I haven't seen anyone in Portugal, or the UK MSM, referring to Davel's opinion.

Anything you say about my opinion applies to any opinion on here... Including  yours... Your posts are sounding rather strange

If public opinion here is 90% anti-McCann, can you not see it is a battleground for hearts and mind?

Why should a Portuguese innocent Smithman come forward?  Who cares about the McCanns here?

In my opinion you paint a very bleak picture of a Portugal which in your opinion counts public perception more valuable than the rule of law and concern about justice for a missing child.

Fortunately the authorities in Britain or more to the point, in Portugal don't feel themselves constrained by limitations such as you suggest.

In my opinion justice is not a popularity contest ... it is still evidence based ... and presently the evidence being followed has led to both investigations into Madeleine's disappearance to focus on abduction.

Maybe it is a battleground ... an allegory of good versus evil?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

My picture of Portugal is one of reality.

In the absence of DNA evidence, both investigations rely on goodwill.  I cannot say what the situation is in the UK,  because I don't track opinion aka goodwill there.  In Portugal, there is a lack of goodwill, which will help neither investigation.

There is no allegory of good v evil.

There was a McCann PR unit set up to protect the parents.

It focused on the UK and ignored Portugal.

It did next to nothing for Madeleine.

Team McCann chose to ignore Portugal.

Deal with the failings of others as gently as with your own.

It seems to me to be a matter of opinion. Amaral may have believed he proved that Madeleine died in the apartment. His Portuguese audience may have agreed with him. The McCanns appear to have believed they had been cleared by the archiving dispatch. Some people believe it's been proved that Madeleine was abducted.
So in your opinion there is no such thing as proof, only opinion about proof?

You keep saying that the Portuguese investigation is focusing on abduction. When Martin Brunt interviewed Pedro do Carmo last year he asked him about that;

MB  Do you accept that she was abducted?
PdC; We don't know what happened and we have to be prepared to deal with different scenarios.

If it wasn't down to opinion there'd be no miscarriages of justice.
