It's nothing personal - do you know the identities of all the "lurkers" who don't post but have access to the members' area? One member here has already had their comments in that section posted on another forum, another has discussed the contents of pm's openly on another forum. I've no intention of becoming a victim of the same circumstance.

It was your use of the word enemy that intrigued me. I see people on these forums as either friends or opponents, but never enemies.  I generally only use the open sections so don't mind who sees or discusses what I post, though I to keep my identity to myself, so much so that I 'borrowed' my username from another internet user.

Very wise but:
Since even before 3rd May 2007 anyone who posted personal information anywhere on the 'net needed their bumps felt imo.
But don't worry about arcane little corners like this. Worry about what is happening to information and photos of you and your family, that you did not know existed, via the defunct Friends Reunited, Facebook and so on.
I am astonished at the number of folk who seem to think 3rd May 2007 was a watershed moment wake up call or whatever jargon word you care to dream up. Only one person ever gives away a secret.

If this is true, then the site administrator can be fined for not protecting personal identifiable information...emails etc. New data protection act coming your way soon.

Well this is the best forum discussing the case so it is possible the perpetrators are members (lurkers) who read to see if anyone knows how close OG is getting onto them.  It definitely is possible.

But at the end of the day stuff coming out of here is mostly  only opinion and  pretty biased at that.

Any perpetrator isn't going to be in the slightest bit interested in all the alleged faults of the original investigation, for example.

You misunderstand me. I am concerned about being seen to discuss  personal information of others involved in some way with this case - nothing to do with my own personal internet security (I happily shop online & have done for years + have never felt the need to use a proxy server).

A death occurring at anytime is a possibility. The last independent sighting of Madeleine is 17:30. Matt Oldfield did not see her at 21:30. 17:30 to 21:30 is 240 minutes.
