Was he asked the question? Was anybody asked that question?

He was asked what happened.

The deponent ran to the apartment accompanied by the rest of the group who, at the time, were seated at the table. When he arrived at the bedroom he first noticed that the door was completely open, the window was also open on one side, the external blinds almost fully raised, the curtains drawn back, MADELEINE'S bed was empty but the twins continued sleeping in their cribs. He clarifies that according to what KATE told him, that was the scene that she found when she entered the apartment.

----- Then he closed the external blinds, made his way to the outside and tried to open them, which he managed to do, much to his surprise given that he thought that that was only possible from the inside. They continued with searches outside around the various apartment blocks. http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/GERRY-MCCANN-10MAY.htm

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

"When Madeleine was small she would cry a lot. She was a very active baby who did not sleep well. She liked to be carried. She liked people to move around with her and to sing to her. Kate and Gerry found that she craved a lot of attention and were grateful for the help from other members of the family.

Madeleine would normally go to bed around 19:30 ' 20:00 and Sean and Amelie around 18:30 ' 19:00. As already mentioned, together Kate and Gerry were very precise about sleep time."

Precise but changed the missing girl's bedtime in PDL - How interesting  ?>)()<

"Because Madeleine did occasionally have bad nights, Kate arranged a bonus system. She would get up in the middle of the night, would go to her parent's room to ensure they were there and would return to her own bed. This situation had gotten better before they went to Portugal."

"I had a conversation with Kate regarding care of the children in particular, leaving the children to cry until exhaustion and Kate and I both agreed that this was not correct and that the attention should be placed on calking them down."

Why would Kate want to discuss such a thing in the first place?

"Both Amelie and Madeleine have taken 'Calpol' (paracetamol) to control fever, but nothing more."

"Precisely related to this routine at home is why Kate rejected the idea of using the Ocean Club facilities and lay the children to sleep on one of the mattresses in a common area."

What do you find odd about the bit you've put in bold? If you look at the preceding paragraphs, she was saying that the kids had a set bedtime routine, that seemed to be working despite early difficulties, and that that is why she preferred not to break that familiar routine by having to make them go to sleep on a mat to sleep in a common crèche (that I presume she feared wouldn't have setttled).

Rolls eyes.  I'm not a clever clogs like you, my observations are based on life experience, of having lived in terraced houses and flats for a many years.  What I wrote is so obvious I don't really feel the need to research the science behind it, but if you're determined to show me up then feel free to tell me why someone passing my house now will be able to hear my daughter upstairs clomping about in her room, or her stereo  making a dull boom boom boom noise.

I am not trying to show you up squire. I was just asking questions to the point of wondering by what quirk you turn a personal observation into a universal rule that is so blindingly obvious, as you seem to imply.

Yet they were willing to break that routine after the disappearance.

Well their lives could hardly be described as "normal" after that, IMO - more a matter of trying to cope.

True and besides it wasn’t really the parents who were the main carers at that time was it? Didn’t Kate say in her book that they even forgot to pick up the twins from nursery on one occasion and had to rely on a relative ?

Her niece saw no such thing. Stop myth-making!
Sorry.  What does this mean then?  From Fenn;s statement

"On the 3rd May she received a visit from her niece Carole during the morning, who said that when she was on her terrace she saw a male individual looking into the McCanns apartment, situation which has been told to the police, her family member even made a photo fit"

What do you suppose she would have heard ? Shouting ? Well she heard that ? What else ? What sound does a child, say, falling of a balcony make ? What does a child dying sound like ? Loud ? When people are covering something up what do they do a) do it as quietly as possible or b) make as much noise as possible so everyone hears ?
What time did she hear shouting?  I would have thought if Madeleine was lying dead there would have been sobbing, crying, panicked shouting even.

If you can point to the post in which I claimed this was a universal rule and not a personal observation I would be very grateful thanks.

The parents.
You sure about that? I don't have the e-book, although I expect someone else does.

22.30.

There was, that’s what alerted her.

Well the relatives though their parents were picking the twins up and vis versa.

Shouldn’t the parents have made sure that they were definitely being picked up ? They had just had one child disappear on them but they don’t seem to have been too careful with their remaining children’s welfare.

After the alarm was raised then, not at the moment Madeleine plummeted to her death. [ Theoretically only]

No one was there what befell her did. That’s kind of the point
