What do you suppose she would have heard ? Shouting ? Well she heard that ? What else ? What sound does a child, say, falling of a balcony make ? What does a child dying sound like ? Loud ? When people are covering something up what do they do a) do it as quietly as possible or b) make as much noise as possible so everyone hears ?

Exactly. Her niece saw someone leave the gate of the apartment next door. Funnily enough I believe the man resembled its occupant.

You speculated she was hard of hearing ! What is it Carana was she deaf so couldn’t hear were noise was coming from or had the ears of a bat and could hear sounds from a building metres away ? You really can’t have it both ways.

It couldn't have been that complicated to check out where the sound was actually coming from, could it? After all, she wasn't interviewed until around 3 weeks prior to the McCanns' arguido interviews, and several weeks after the dogs' inspection...

Wouldn't it have been of interest in the searth for the "truth"?

That suggests Gerry forgot to mention this important fact in all his statements but his finger prints were not found. Nuff said

If the window was witnessed in an open position then someone had to have later closed it. Had that person been Gerry or someone else but their prints weren't found, is that evidence the CSI team missed something?

Madeleine, in her own words, told her parents that she and one of her siblings ( recollections vary ) had been crying. That sounds like a frightened child to me.

Others did see the open window just not before the alarm.

A frightened child would have been reluctant to go to bed the following evening IMO. There is no evidence Madeleine was frightened.
It is accepted the window was seen open after the alarm. I frequently go walking after dark & seriously do not notice which of my neighbours' windows are open or curtains drawn. Why would any of the Tapas group pay particular attention to an apartment they were not resident in & was half-hidden from view?

Mrs Fenn had no reason to lie so why would the PJ test her recollection?  Why specifically do you think Mrs Fenn mentioned that the crying came from downstairs if she was unsure ? Why didn’t she say....I heard a child crying for 1 and a quarter hours but don’t know where it came from, I’m a bit deaf you see ?

I couldn’t agree more to your first point and yet we are lead to believe that that’s exactly what Madeleine did on Thursday after berating her parents for not being in the apartment when she and her sibling cried.

As to the window my point is that no one saw the window open before Kate raised the alarm. Do you disagree with that ?

I think you have a little bit of a cheek there. How long did it take for Tanner to tell the parents about her sighting ?

Further no one but the McCanns have ever suggested that there may have been a prior attempt.
