Long time no hear Caro  ?>)()<. Anyway welcome back!  Thanks - as a former naughty nun I think I must have glossed over the bits with religious connotations!

I didn't go anywhere but thanks :). Forgot to mention that although the bible was returned to the family, the note wasn't.

I think I must be getting lost!  I can't see the significance in any of this?  The stain on the carpet is the wrong side of the bible based on its position above?

Yes. When the bible is faced down page 566 is on the right side of the book and on top of the stain, so it should be this page that is stained. However, the stain is on page 567 which when faced down is on the left side of the book but the right side when turned over.

The top of both pages are stained. Much of page 566 was covered by page 567 which was folded. You can't see the blood underneath the Bible because the Bible is sitting on top of it. You keep stating the Bible sat flat in half though it didn't.

I have never said it sat flat. You and I will never agree on this, we will just have to agree to disagree.

I have a picture of that on my lap top - is this what you mean?

Is the stain definitely blood?  It looks much darker than the blood on SC's arms?
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I'm looking at the U shape under SC's arm....if the bible is face down, then the page with most blood stains fits well, including the straight edge that is lightly coloured,  this means if the bible is open then the blood stains that have run down the edge of other page also fit the runs of blood on SC's arm. The bible would be across the body at this point. Mirror image appears when bible closed

Sorry Opal I obviously didn't make myself clear.  I was referring to the stain on the carpet which looks a completely different colour from the blood stains on SC's arms which are clearly red.  The stain on the carpet (if thathatehat it is) looks more akin to the colour of SC's hair?  It could be anything eg the way any blood dried, lighting etc.

Yes Holly I thought the same that the dark stain on the carpet looked like Sheila's hair. But on looking at a few more photos I decided it was blood that had dried as some photos show it is separate from SC's hair and no shadow.

I don't understand why the police would return the bible to the family when it appears it was a court exhibit.  Thought they needed preserving indefinitely by the police/prosecution.  And perhaps more to the point why on earth would the family want to take possession of a tatty, blood stained bible?

The whole thing seems bizarre to my mind.  I guess the note was destroyed.  What about the crochet cloth?

It does seem odd that something in that state was given back to the family but that's what happened. The prosecution had finished with it at that stage - not sure what happened to the crocheted cloth but I suspect it went the same way as the card. I wonder if they still have the bible?

Absolutely spot on... and I'm in total agreement with you. The very faint mirror image on page 566 only appeared after the bible was closed, when the original dark stain on 567 had partially dried... and what's more it didn't come from the carpet but was deliberately planted from the victim's bloodied palm.

As a remembrance of a dearly-loved member of the family who they tragically lost.
