Pre-trials matters: Pleading guilty
Q26.
Can     I     plead     guilty?     What     are     the
consequences of pleading guilty?
There is no system of plea bargain in Portugal (i.e. you
cannot  make  a  deal  with  the  prosecutor  and  offer  to
confess  your  guilt  in  exchange  for  a  lesser  sentence).

However,  if  you  confess  your  guilt  and  show  regret  for
what  you  have done, this can  be taken into account by
the court when it makes a decision on your sentence

You can’t make a deal, but the police can point out that if you confess to one crime you may be better off than if they press ahead with charges for a more serious crime - IMO.

If you can provide evidence that such happened then your opinion is worthy of consideration; otherwise tis nowt but ineffectual chatter.

Isn't that exactly what Kate claimed?

The evidence is straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak, from the woman who was there, in her book.  If you wish to dismiss it, that’s your choice.

An account in all likelihood never to be tested in a court of law imo.

Why would the PJ admit to bluffing in the files?  What would you expect to find if they had bluffed?

I thought that's what we were discussing, not 'deals'.I think we've wandered.

What do you mean exactly?  This was the interrogation conduted by Paiva immediately preceding her arguid interview, if that helps?
Are you saying that Paiva discussed evidence that might incriminate Kate BEFORE she was made an arguida?
What's up, old man?

Read the book, I’m only relaying what’s written there.

It would save us all so much time if you provided a cite.

It’s taken from the chapter entitled ‘Arguidos’ - it’s what prompted Kate to mutter "f..king tosser" under her breath, surely you must have come across this before?

So not pre-arguida but post-arguida.

Merci bien!

We have just established it was post-arguida.  As in NOT the day before.

Not from what I see here.  OK looking at Kate's book it is on the day she was declared an arguido. Friday 7th September.  http://www.gerrymccannsblogs.co.uk/m_book.htm
