No they don't. I doubt they will ever hand anything over as it would create a precedent regarding access to all police data
Portugal has set a precedence, when they archive a case the file can be released.  I'm not sure how it works in general.
It might be a good idea, allowing cases to be discussed openly after the case is archived.

This is a policy that seems peculiar to Portugal. We know that they haven't released all the data.
Britain has no such policy

That may have been her view but I see it as an arrogant expression of entitlement.
Please explain why Kate shouldn’t be entitled to see all the information pertaining to the disappearance of her OWN child, in a case which the police saw fit to shelve?

She is entitled only to what the authorities wish to give her. It doesn't matter what she thinks.

Change the UK policy then.  Utilise the power of social media.  Things can change.

Do you have this attitude to all authority?
Rather a subservient attitude.
Deal with the failings of others as gently as with your own.

Dream on.  These are decisions for Parliament, not for a few people with a misguided sense of importance.

We did the census on line this year.  I think things will change.

Those Google book files open up many pages and it is easy to lose the place you are supposed to be looking for.

It matters to her and if she want to challenge the authorities  why shouldn’t she, or do you believe everyone should pipe down and defer to the authorities no matter what?
