Of course they do. 1 in 10 patients in hospitals are harmed by mistakes by the staff. I have seen it happen myself, but was unable to spot the mistake at the time because I didn't know it was being made.

I’m involved in a record release and I know from listening to the test pressing it’s not right.  It needs re-mastering.  I have absolutely no idea how this is done but I know it sounds wrong from my own (and others) observations.  Not being an expert in the process, should I flag up my concerns and get it re-mastered, or should I just accept that the experts know best?

You should tell the experts it doesn’t sound right and let them work out what went wrong.

Your use of the word remastering suggests a higher level of knowledge than mine. Most laymen would just say it doesn't sound right.
