'Kidnap' bumper sticker sparks police probe!

The image makes it appear there is a woman bound and gagged in the boot.

A truck bumper sticker depicting a kidnapped woman in the vehicle's boot has been investigated by police after several people made complaints.

After the image was captured in Leeds city centre and shared on social media, police tracked down the driver of the pick-up truck and advised him to remove the "offensive" sticker.

Chief Inspector Steve Palmer, Leeds City Centre Commander, said:

We were contacted by a caller raising concerns about a photographic image which made it appear there was a female bound and gagged in the back of the truck.

These concerns were also raised on social media which prompted a number of similar complaints to West Yorkshire Police. It was clear that a number of people had found the image offensive and had been alarmed and distressed by it being displayed in public.
– Steve Palmer

The truck owner agreed to have the image removed from the vehicle after being warned that it could be treated as a public order offence.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

I can see the amusement in this in a Banksy sort of way.  However it is horribly reminiscent of the murder of Joanna Yeates by Vincent Tabak.  Not only did VT dispose of JY via his car boot but it also came out at trial that he got off on viewing extreme porn involving females being bound and gagged in the boots of vehicles.  Although the women in the sticker is dressed plainly so it doesn't appear there's a sexual element to it.
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I love spoofs, but real families have been affected in that way.... and it might encourage others to act out the scenario maliciously.

In luie of all the assaults on women, I find that offensive rather than funny

Good to know that it is being removed
