The recent ITV docu highlighted 3 tel calls made to the BBC in the aftermath of the murder. The calls were subsequently reported on by The Telegraph
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/04/25/police-ignored-calls-claiming-jill-dando-killing-serbian-revenge/1st CallMade hours after murder 26th April:
“Re the murder of journalist tell your Prime Minister in Belgrade 15 killed so 14 more to go.”
2nd CallAround 11am day after murder 27th April:
"Yesterday I called to add a few more numbers to the list because your government and in particular your Prime Minister Blair murdered, butchered 17 innocent young people.
3rd Call28th April:
“Listen you and the BBC are the voice of your government that's why your reporter is dead because your government killed 17 innocent people.”
The article refers to the caller having an east European accent but only a linguist would be in a position to confirm or reject this claim and I can't find any evidence this actually happened.
Imo the calls are a hoax but maybe the hoaxer was the perp and attempting to deflect.
I believe one of the calls was traced to Gerrards Cross, South Bucks.
Why the calls don't ring true:
- I believe 16 people were killed during the NATO bombing of RTS. The first call refers to 15 killed. The other two calls refer to 17 killed.
- Jill was a broadcaster at the BBC not a journalist.
- The word
butchered as in kill brutally and indiscriminately is possibly not a word used in the Serbian language to describe such. Same might apply to the word
Re as in regarding.
- It was a NATO led bombing mission so why the emphasis on the UK and the then prime minister Tony Blair? Other NATO countries are geographically far closer to Serbia (former Yugoslavia) than UK and I'm sure some or all of those countries had their own Jill Dando or some other equally high profile person who worked in the media and was a soft target.
- As previously posted given the NATO bombing of RTS occurred around 02.06am 24th Arpil so extremely unlikely anyone could orchestrate a hit in such a short space of time.
