The Tories would be utterly mad to reinstate him as PM, utterly butterly mad.

It depends how much they crave power. They kept their lead in the polls until he resigned, didn't he?

Did they?  Boris had a hugely negative personal rating by the time he was booted out.  Over 100 Tory MPs wanted him out.  He is currently being investigated for misleading parliament and could (if reinstated) be forced to resign again if he is found to have done so.  Only 4 members of the QT audience this evening seemed keen on having Boris back, a reasonable snapshot of the public mood re: Boris.  As I said, the Tories would have to be off their rockers to have him back.

Thank God Boris has finally come to his senses and saved us from further agony and ignominy.

Common sense has finally prevailed and the only candidate capable of doing the job amongst a pretty low calibre selection is now PM.  Let’s hope he restores some dignity and honesty to the role and manages to prevent GB from going down the toilet completely.

And - there's the added bonus that Sunak's appointment will piss off all the racists in the Tory membership who didn't get behind him earlier in the year in favour of that incompetent woman Truss.

Nothing wrong with being filthy-rich, but plonker he most certainly is, in fact a quite ghastly individual.
