Well they are known to be fans of Thatcher who, along with Keith Joseph, was a fan of Milton Friedman. If they follow Thatcher's lead then there's a lot more pain coming. What Truss doesn't have is the support that Thatcher had in the country at large.

Given the gloomy UK economic news I suggest it would be a really good idea to keep pumping our money & weapons into Ukraine. I'm not sure how that will help exactly but presumably someone in the government knows.

Thatcherís popularity began to wane rapidly after her 1979 election victory and only began to turn around thanks to the Falklands War.  Perhaps thatís what Truss is banking on:  victory in Ukraine with Zelensky giving us much of the credit.
