Is it possible to contact an individual in prison who isn't in the public domain, if so how would I go about obtaining their contact information?

Prisoners have prison numbers and you would contact the prison using that number.
The only other way to do it would be to email findaprisioner@justice.gov.uk providing as much information about the prisoner as you can. Name, dob, address before prison, their solicitor etc.
They should respond informing you of their prison number & what prison they are being held in. You can then write to
the prisoner by letter, or by emailing them at email a prisoner.com.
Hope that helps.
