I am sure it will be the most elongated "ball of confusion" containing various libellous accusations/insinuations to ever be submitted to a potential publisher, Pegasus. Just my opinion.

Do you think this is the same manuscript as the one written immediately after TToTL (but never published), with the ending as it was supposed to be, or a brand new manuscript?

Fresh agony for the McCanns: Former police chief plans second book on missing Madeleine
THE PORTUGUESE detective who coordinated the failed attempts to find Madeleine McCann has written a controversial new book about the case, bringing fresh anguish for her parents Kate and Gerry.

Goncalo Amaral revealed he has completed the work, which re-examines the timeline of Madeleine’s disappearance. He is now seeking to publish it.
Mr Amaral co-ordinated the original investigation in Portugal and went on to publish a book making unfounded allegations against the McCanns.
The couple fiercely rebuked his claims and the book was withdrawn.
But last month Mr Amaral won an appeals court case in Portugal’s capital Lisbon, allowing the book to be published.
Now he says that he has penned a second book about the disappearance which he is planning to publish.
The move will anger Kate and Gerry, who have spent the past nine years searching for their daughter who disappeared on May 3, 2007, then aged three, from the family’s holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
Mr Amaral was removed as the head of the Madeleine investigation in 2008 after he criticised British detectives’ handling of the case.
He went on to write The Truth Of The Lie, a controversial book which Kate McCann described as “devastating and painful” to the family, and which she said could adversely affect the investigation.
The McCanns are now taking the case to the Supreme Court in Lisbon, where divorcee Mr Amaral, 47, lives, hoping to overturn the appeal.
Mr Amaral, now retired, said he bore no ill will against the McCanns, but revealed he had completed a second book.
He said: “Winning the appeal case gives me no joy or happiness. It is just part of the legal process.
“I will defend my reputation, and the integrity of the officers who worked with me, in the courts but I just want a quiet peaceful life.
“I am pleased I have a court ruling which defends the freedom of expression.
“I was invited to book signings now the book is back on sale but I turned them down. I don’t want to be in the spotlight.
“I have written another book, examining the timeline and what people have said, and I am looking to publish that.
“I enjoy writing books and relaxing and I will continue to do that.”

That'll disappoint those who are expecting the Portuguese press to descend on Rothley.

I'm not particularly worried ... although last time round the Portuguese publishers seemed to be, perhaps about judicial secrecy ... who knows??
Certainly the Spanish had no such qualms.
However, what more has Mr Amaral to add to the story he has already written ... and covering what period? Bearing in mind he was sacked from the investigation in 2007 and the only new information coming in regarding the archived case didn't happen until it was re-opened.
What went on between then and now particularly in relation to co-operative working between Scotland Yard and the Policia Judiciaria would make interesting reading.
He wouldn't be the man to be writing it though because as a civilian he would know nothing about the inner workings of an active police case ... wouldn't that be unlawful?
Doesn't really leave a lot to write a book about.

So I guess you won't mind if it goes on sale in UK

McCann disappears from TV Kate and Gerry cancel interviews after court defeat.
By João Carlos Rodrigues
QUESTION CM Read the book 'Maddie: The Truth of the Lie'? YES NO A few days to complete nine years of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the parents of British girl decided to cancel the interviews that were scheduled to mark the date. According to close to double source quoted by the British press, Kate and Gerry made this decision for fear that the focus is put on recent defeat in court in the case against Goncalo Amaral instead of focusing attention on the search for the missing girl in Praia da Luz in the Algarve on 3 May 2007. "they liked to make a new appeal [to try to find Maddie], but are aware that any journalist will question them about the victory of Gonçalo Amaral. they are devastated with the court decision. it's the last thing you want to discuss at this time, "said a friend of the couple to newspaper 'Daily Star'. Where's Maddie? One of canceled interviews, ITV, one of the most viewed channels in the UK, was scheduled for Tuesday, the day that mark nine years of the disappearance of the girl. Kate and Gerry McCann also refused several offers to interviews on TV and magazines worldwide dimension, since after the decision be known. Kate and Gerry are preparing an appeal against the court decision - demanded compensation of 500,000 euros Gonçalo Amaral. Now the former inspector PJ can return to 'sell' the book 'True Lies' and is considering moving forward with a case against the McCanns.

I would argue there is a persuasive argument that adulterers who swindle their own brothers and cover colleagues who beat the cr*p out of a woman tied to a chair with a bag over her head to get her to 'confess' to murder are not the people, also, to supply the final and definitive word on what might (or what might not) have happened to Madeleine.

So nothing that suggests, let alone proves he is not a good detective.

Oh come off it. If there was the slightest hint of any impropriety or scandalous behaviour by the McCanns - sceptics would be all over it like a rash and we'd never hear the end of it.
The problem some sceptics have is that no nasty skeletons have come out of the cupboard about the McCanns but the same cannot be said about their hero.
'Elsewhere' Gerry was accused of committing fraud because he forgot to inform the DVLA of his change of address. Apparently thousands of people do the same every year (I'm one of them] and so that just shows how desperate they are to find something in his private life to have a go about.

I think the unsavoury discussion might have arisen over speculation about the contents of his next book on Madeleine McCann. Maybe all will be revealed before he pops over on a book signing visit.
Perhaps he will revisit his interpretation of the forensic results. Or could be more interesting than that as for the moment he is free to express himself. Who knows ... he maybe even give us the details he must have of the old lady whose coffin he said Madeleine was in ... who was she? ... what was the date of cremation?
