Thank's Shona hun ... that's what I thought too from looking at pics. We have about 12 of them here on a daily basis. I am building them a dove cote. Can't track down the first big fella yet.
This is that camera we were talking about! 8)-)))

Looks right size wise ... he is a big lad. I reckon he weighs close to 10kg. I will nail him down ... so to speak!
-
Possibly even the Black Kite.

Could be but there is no big white areas under the wings. hmmmm?

I think you will need an ornithologist to tie him down properly as there are so many different types of hawks and kites on the continent.
He or she has certainly got the beak and the talons...reminds me of someone...just can't seem to place her?? hmm.... @)(++(*

She reminds me of someone too ... amazing how difficult it is to get a picture of her. If I even breath too loud she jumps 10 feet in the air .... a bit like Frizz Bomb when they knock at her bedsit door!

Yeah and quoting Malcohm X ... a notorious drug dealer and pimp! She wouldn't know that though would she; half her brain is taken up trying to control that mad hair!

Evidently my feathered friend is indeed a buzzard according to local experts! Not nearly as cool as an eagle or falcon and the like but hey he is still a handsome fellow ... just like his photographer! 8)-)))

Don't know about the photographer but the bird is fab. Where did you take the photo mate?

Yeah David ... he lives in the forest at the back of my place but he is very elusive and hardly ever out in the open. I am determined to get an in focus snap of him though. The doves are easy to get but there's woodpeckers too who are very nervous.
I am not a Bill Oddie really, just playing with a new camera: I will get better with it.

One for Miss P. to bark at!

That photo is from the Netherlands John .... not far away from here. That is the closest one yet to my flying neighbour! I will tell him he is a common buzzard!
