Title: Jeremy Bamber - a lost cause
Post by: thedarkman on December 07, 2012, 11:22:11 PM
I spent much of Thursday reading the Scott Lomax book; I was surprised at the strength of the case he makes, for example he says Bamber dialled the local Filth because he didn't want flashing lights and sirens. This is plausible as are many other things, but still not good enough.

Furthermore he makes all manner of ludicrous claims including that garbage about someone moving in the house - a claim set up by Bamber - and the one-sided conversation.

Then he goes really over the top by suggesting the phone line to the house was open and the police may have or had tapes.

The bottom line though is that the officer in charge of the case was convinced Sheila was responsible initially. Why did he change his mind if any of these ludicrous claims were true?

Why did any of them? The implication is that they knew Bamber was innocent but put him under surveillance anyway and then allowed Julie Mugford and others to set him up.

This is Alice-in-Wonderland stuff.

One question no one seems to have asked is did Bamber have an accomplice? It appears not but it's surprising no one has suggested it.

I am more convinced now than ever that Bamber's leaving the silencer was deliberate. True, he wanted an audience, but consider the Shipman case.

This is a guy with a stratospheric IQ who has murdered over 200 people, then he murders his last victim and forges her will so clumsily, so suspiciously, and Mrs Grundy's daughter was a solicitor. How could he have hoped to get away with it?

By that time, Shipman realised subconsciously that it had to stop. I think deep down Bamber realised that he too shouldn't have got away with it.

Just me but what do people think?

Just me but what do people think?

The officer in charge, Taff Jones, never changed his mind and he was subsequent reassigned.  The story goes that he was too concerned about his golf to consider that the murder was anything more than a domestic which got out of hand.  Some time later he fell off a ladder while doing maintenance work at home and died of his injuries.  Again, this is something which Bambers supporters portray as a conspiracy.

Some of the officers and especially Sgt Stan Jones saw through Bamber from the outset.  He was an experienced officer and could see from day one that there was something just not right.  He brought Mugford to Jeremy's house after the murder and was to catch Bamber having a laugh with Mugford not that long afterwards.  Julie refers to this in her statement as the moment when he admitted to her that he was behind it all.

The accomplice scenario is a complicated one.  I personally believe that there was at least one other and possibly two in on it.  I am not suggesting they were there but they were aware of what was going on.

Lomax is a famous Bamberette. His book is appalling .... For example Bamber was asked in his first interviews why he had called the local police and not 999. Bamber's direct answer was "I don't know" .... Absolutely nothing about sirens and flashing lights ... and local cops cars have the same sirens and lights anyway!

I am happy to read balanced books and articles ........ Lomax's book is like a fan letter!

In an ideal world Bamber would have dumped the silencer, however this was simply not a possibility as wherever it would have been dumped it would have been found and probably traced. This would have incriminated him so he had to leave it in the house. I believe he cleaned it as best he could and hoped it wouldn't be found or he would have cleaned it well enough for it not to be suspicious, but may have been panicking a bit so was a bit remiss(remember a lot of unexpected things happened during the murder, chiefly he shot her with the silencer on and had to remove it because no one would believe she could have done this herself with the silencer on). I personally don't think he ever thought he would be caught.

In addition goatboy....isn't is quite remarkable that the tip of the rifle barrel was free of any blood when it was supposed to have been used to murder 5 innocents.  Bamber messed up big time on that one!!

Absolutely Matthew, surely you would have expected some sort of blood presence inside the rifle barrel (if Sheila had shot herself with the tip of the barrell pressing into her neck). There was none but there were traces of blood in the silencer. QED.

....and there was no blood on the palms of Shelia's hands or on the inside of her fingers.  How was she supposed to have held the barrel of the rifle while shooting herself?  Maybe she wore gloves as well which have mysteriously disappeared?

Maybe blue forum apologist Patti can answer that one??

Afternoon Matthew!

I don't know what you mean by apologist Patti?  Could you explain please?

There was blood on the back on Sheila's right hand and along her thumb, if you would care to observe.

I'd like to know where you have seen photo's of the inside of her hands, because there isn't any.

Bye for now!  ?{)(**

Afternoon Patti.   I believe the point Matt is trying to make is that Sheila couldn't have grasped the rifle without getting blood on it.  How does one shoot oneself twice in the neck without having blood all over ones inner hands and the rifle trigger?

Yes an apologist is someone who makes excuses for someone else and that is what you are doing for Jeremy Bamber by trying to blame Sheila Caffell.  If I have got this wrong I do apologise.   8((()*/

There was no blood on any of her fingers which proves she never handled the rifle but I have a sneaky suspicion you already knew that. 8(0(*

It doesn't seem to have registered with them over at the blue forum yet but just in case here it is again...

It doesn't matter how much crap Bamber's experts dig up as the evidence already to hand clearly exonerates Sheila of any wrongdoing and by so doing implicates Jeremy by default.

The Blue forum should understand our stance; there is a mountain of evidence that Sheila could not have fired that rifle and is a victim of murder and anyone who accuses her of murdering her adored sons and parents is doing her a massive injustice.

Any sensible and reasonable person need only to read the extent of the fight injuries to Neville to realise that Sheila could never have beaten him so badly and remained forensically clean. Neville was hit so hard it broke his jaw and broke the rifle's stock; Sheila didn't even have a bruise on her!

I think it is reasonable to say that no one who reads the evidence of Sheila's condition after death can possibly accuse her of those 5 murders and expect to be taken seriously!

I don't know how anyone can convince some members of the Blue Forum that it is incredibly unlikely that Sheila could have been responsible. Besides the evidence which is so clearly outlined in the thread on Sheila'S INNOCENCE , I have heard from a number of people who knew Sheila well and indeed from her early childhood, that this act would have been totally out of character. Her psychiatric history has been much distorted by people who ought to know better. People on the Blue Forum who claim to support the cause of fighting injustice  !

The really terrible and disgusting injustice has been to defame the memory of Sheila and other victims of this evil crime. Patti who appears to be one of the few reasonable posters on Tesko's forum, seems to have expressed some doubts as to Sheila's responsibility whilst doggedly maintaining a belief in Bamber's innocence putting foward the " third party " argument , which really does not stand up to much scrutiny.

The blue forum continually go on about 'new evidence' which obviously doesn't exist because Jeremy Bamber is still inside. I think it's probably time for them to accept he's as guilty as can be and to really stop debating the issue to within a milimeter of it's life. It's all very batty to continue pushing the issue, he isn't coming out, other than in a box. They need to find other things to debate.

Patti I believe has questioned the evidence and recognises that Sheila's condition after the murders and her personality mean she must be innocent. I think this does bother her and makes her question Bamber's innocence. Patti is both smart and honest ... I predict she will be the next one to see that Sheila is suffering a great injustice at the hands of the Bamberettes!

Luggy Grahame and David would blow with the wind; both are more interested in their positions and how they appear to others than the truth  of the case!

D knows fine well that Bamber is guilty, but he needs a cause to fight, and he's got a Corporal Jones/Captain Mainwaring thing going on with Mike. As for G, I would invite everyone to cast their minds back to the 20th of August when, for half a shining, glorious hour, he held the power of the blue forum in trembling, incredulous hands.

Then he had a Beltdown, pooed himself and ran off crying.

Want to know why all future Bamber CCRC submissions will be rejected?

Read Nicko's post on the blue forum tonight. SPOT on. Man knows the case.

and Mr Tesko... he is not the slightest bit interested in Jeremy Bamber. His only motive is to try and bring discredit on the the police and the prison system, which have been the bane of his life, because he chose criminality as a career choice. All of his posts are written in the hope that he will persuade others that all 'coppers and screws' are b*stards and that he will, by some sheer fluke or legal technicality, unearth some great conspiracy that will expose the justice system and bring heads to roll. This would maybe enable him to take comfort in feeling that he 'got the b*stards back'. Well, guess what Mr Tesko, you are a criminal because you chose to be a criminal and you achieved little positive in your life because of it. It was the fault of nobody else but your own selfish desires for material gain at the expense of others. You gain as much sympathy as you deserve. Most of us have achieved in life because we've worked hard, have sound values and recognise what's important - and don't live our lives through an internet forum because we are consumed with hatred for the police.

Ooh er missus, where did that come from?  @)(++(*

Although Bamber has pleaded with Mike to quit his nonsense, if anything he's become more and more outrageous to the point of silliness. ("To stimulate debate" my ar$e.)

And I also think that it is very telling that most of Bamber's last few supporters are ladies who, although they haven't met him (although, apparently, at least one would be able to judge his "innocence" just by looking at him) they insist on portraying him as some twinkly-eyed, farm-loving scamp.

The motives of people who continue to support Bamber in defiance of reason does seem complicated. Maybe some do need a cause, others bored and lonely, individuals also trying like Teskowski to get their own back on " the system " . I find the notion of being able to tell that someone is innocent by just meeting them charmingly naive, particularly if the profile of the individual concerned is likely to fit that of psychopathy. Surprising too in someone who apparently has had a career in working in mental health. Gosh, some of your patients must have pulled the wool over your eyes as you looked on (out).  The blue forum seems to be running out of steam in endlessly pursuing much travelled issues in the case and to be turning into a more benign social media site. I still wonder where someone like NGB fits in to this though. Hardly his sort of social circle. Yet he still seems to be hanging on in whilst never really seeming to explicitly state his belief in Bamber's innocence. A lost cause surely from a businessman's perspective ?  Or is his support for Bamber just pure altruism ? I predict that he will quietly slip out of sight over the next few months.

The whole debate surrounding JB seems to be going round and round in circles. Someone brave needs to pull the blinds down and either tell them it's time to call it quits or find something else to debate which is already being done anyway but even when I've read the other boards, trying to debate the subject is futile.
One of the posters is just about illiterate and spells how they speak (sometimes) and I get the jist that when they get a member who is vaguely intellegent they don't really like it which is a shame but they could always join here.

Hysterical!

Oh well, only a few more christmases to go before he tops himself, with any luck.

A bit harsh although I suppose that if he had been locked up in some states in the US they might be just about getting round to giving him a Christmas present of the lethal injection now that he has exhausted every avenue of appeal against his conviction. Personally, I am strongly against the death penalty which I think just lowers the rest of society to the level of killers like Bamber. I hope, but am not too optimistic, that in 2013 Bamber and his supporters will face up to reality and that he will accept his guilt. He needs to have the guts to apologise to all those members of the family he has harmed and allow them some closure after all these years. Maybe, maybe that could open the door to some sort of closely supervised release after a period of rehabilitation but perhaps not before he reaches 60 years of age.

Bamber should be given the option to top himself and donate his organs. A tiny glimmer of redemption.

Well, god forbid, if my life, or more importantly the life of someone I loved, depended on a transplanted organ, I wouldn't question the source. It's never going to be a brain, they can't do that. But if it's a kidney, or a liver, or a heart....f..king go for it. I would actually feel guilty if a pig had to sacrifice it's life for me, but not a dead-eyed b........ like Bamber.

And the blue forum is a disgrace. Shameful. A small group of lost people who get endless entertainment from the murder of two lovely boys. Bamber actually considered burning the farm down. He asked Sheila, for the first time ever, when she and the boys would be at the farm. And he made sure that a loaded gun would be left on the settle.

However you want to play this, Sheila didn't move after the first shot. Mike lied.

If Sheila was conscious for a single moment after the first shot, which shattered her throat and damaged the soft tissue, her face would be covered in blood spatter. She would have coughed, panicked, gagged.

She didn't.

The alleged phone call from Neville rules out a third party, the phone call didnt take place. Bamber is guilty.

Sheila was wearing a flimsy sleeveless nightie, not a mark on her. And how long would it have taken to cook the silencer on the aga!

If sheila was going to do away with her kids and herself, she would have done it at her own home, not whf.

Get JB's organs out, give them to someone who needs them who'll do something constructive and test pigs organs on him, kill two birds with one stone, use him as a guinea pig, then I'll get a conclusive answers as to whether pigs organs can be used in humans, they already use heart valves and they do say the pig is a horizontal human.
Walks away from computer, briskly, it's going to be a bad ass day today.

I completely agree, when all is said and done it is the forensics relating to Sheila which tell the tale.  Jeremy couldn't properly duplicate events to make it appear that Sheila had done it all.  There was always going to be something which gave the game away.

The blue forum and those who proffer on behalf of Jeremy always chose to ignore this evidence because they know that it cannot be overturned.

I seem to remember the CCRC telling Bamber's defense team that they wanted to see everything that was possibly considered new evidence at the last failed application. Obviously inferring that this was make or break for Bamber (do or die ... in prison!).

That is why the CCRC bent over backwards to accommodate Bamber and his solicitors; allowing 3 extensions of deadlines I believe AND excepting submissions when they failed to meet the 'final' deadline. I don't think there can be any doubt that the CCRC decided this was definitely Bamber's last hurrah and they now consider this case done and dusted.

Does anyone else remember them saying they wanted to see all possible submissions?

Without denying genuine cases the opportunity to reach the appeal court I would say that if the rumour of a further approach to the CCRC is true then Bamber's defence team are sorely tempting fate.  I remember that as well Tim so for them to even be considering approaching the CCRC after everything that has gone on over the last 6 months is farcical.

Many of you don't follow the Bamber saga on twitter but the bit I find galling is the continual assertion by tweeters of whom 99% are female that Jeremy is innocent yet without exception fail to provide any substance to this claim.  It would appear to be the same group of about five suspects who are most probably closely linked to the campaign team headed by Miss Daniele.  They never provide anything new and constantly revert to old scripts which have been shown to be of little substance by the recent ccrc decision and judicial review judgement.

I find it amusing that the only response to such refusals to refer the case is the repeat claim that they have again uncovered some spectacular new evidence.  Those of us who have followed and delved into the case in great depth know that such claims are a smokescreen though and always amount to a big fat zero.  Will they ever accept the truth I ask myself?

David, It's because nobody has made a programme showing how Jeremy did it. There was a 'Crimes that shook britain' which didn't really show much at all either way and then another programme called 'Bamber-the new evidence' which tells how he DIDN'T do it. Plus I think JB doesn't fit the profile of a murderer as a lot of females would imagine, he's quite well turned out, quite good looing, had money and he doesn't look like a scary Manson type.
Real crime did a programme about JB but I can't recall ever seeing it, unless it's the same as CTSB under another name for the CI channel.

I'm pretty sure the CCRC will categorically reject any further claim without considering it properly. They may browse it for a few hours, just to be sure that there's no genuinely crucial new evidence (which we know there wont be), but then they'll throw it out. All Bamber could then do would be to JR that decision. I hope he does, in a way, as he must be getting close to the stage where the High Court will declare him a vexatious litigant.

Well the CCRC have to agree to look at the case again. They've said that they've closed the case and made their final decision.
