He says about ten past ten which sounds about right as he says about three minutes past 10 he signalled to Kate it was time for her check.

So Kate took 10 minutes to search the apartment? You think that's a reasonable amount of time for her to discover the open window & do a quick search of such a tiny apartment? He claimed he became worried about her lateness, 10 minutes later which would be 10:13. So Gerry has the alarm being raised nearly 20 minutes later than Matt. But you can't see anything suspicious about that?

Lace, can you explain why Mr McCann gave the time the alarm was raised over 10 minutes later than the rest of the group? Are you able to explain that at all? I can explain it easy enough from my side of the fence but when I try to consider it from yours I can't think of a good reason. Maybe he was enjoying his meal that much that he just lost track of the time. That's probably it.

It does indeed but if Gerry?s conversation with Wilkins was at the 9pm check ( Wilkins himself could only narrow it down to between 8.45 and 9.15pm) and it was on the 9.30pm check ( Diane Webster said the group only checked on their own children so it was unlikely Oldfied checked on Madeleine and her siblings) Gerry found Madeleine missing then it explains why Gerry was normal while speaking to Wilkins at 9pm and also the faint calls of ?Madeleine? claimed by a witness around 9.30pm.

So you are saying that Matthew Oldfield is lying in his statements?  Why?   Matthew Oldfield did a listening check outside the apartment window at about 9o'clock he says Gerry went to do his check at about 5 past nine.  Gerry went to the toilet then spoke to Jeremy.  At 9.30 Matthew went to check on the McCann children.  Whoever said they heard calls of Madeleine at 9.30 was mistaken.

Is there any particular reason to believe that the McCanns are incapable of deceit?  I can't think of any. Everyone has the ability to deceive others.

Indeed Kate admitted as much in her book. While all her attention should have been focused on finding her daughter she was focusing on optics.

Yes,good points from both sides today again, Spam!
You're scenario makes a lot of sense, but again, Lace is quite right too, if the McCanns are guilty then it was one hell of a feat to act normal that evening up until Kate raised the alarm! Dont you think?

No, I wouldn't expect you to alter your position even when it's laid out to you in plain English. Mr McCann disappeared, twice. Once at 9pm & again after the alarm was raised when he suggested they split up & search, see if she's just wandered out. Even though he knew she'd just been dragged out of the window & it was impossible for her to have left the apartment on her own. He makes no attempt to alert the police, he didn't tell Matt to go to reception like he later claimed, he makes no attempt to alert the police whatsoever for another forty minutes, Kate doesn't even try either. If you can't see anything suspicious about that then I don't know what to say really. Maybe solving crimes just isn't your forte.

Abduction is incredibly rare,  unless you have a person who has made a living out of burglary and selling drugs.  Who is so cocky he is known as the climber as he boasts of breaking into apartment and indeed a large stash of his takings were found in his home.  He is also a rapist who likes to dress up and inflict pain torturing women.  Who had a  mass of child porn buried under his pet dog.  Plus a gun and other suspicious powders.    Fantasising about abducting a little blonde girl.  Yes the statistics go down very quickly with someone like that living not far from the apartment.

I don't believe Gerry McCann took Madeleine's body and hid her on wasteland.  The evidence shows he was at the Tapas Bar the whole time after doing his check.  He was not away long enough to have gone to waste ground [wherever that is]
left Madeleine hidden there and came back as if nothing had happened.  It was his daughter and judging by the video's we have seen he loved Madeleine.  Plus he acted normally at dinner even ate his dinner.  Then when it was obvious that Madeleine was missing collapsed into a sobbing mess on the floor.

Do you have children Lace? You seen very protective of children. Me personally I don't like children, they are expensive annoying little brats. Anyway, I view the world without child protective emotion, I view the case details without that emotion. Parents of children will be more inclined to fear the mythical abductor bogey man & will be willing to believe in it & as such the Mccanns. When, in reality, stranger abductions are incredibly rare. The overwhelming majority of disappearances are caused by family or someone known to them.
