A question for John, Dillon and Goatboy

If you were sitting on the jury for the WHF murders and you knew Julie Mugford had a deal to collect money for a story if Jeremy Bamber were found guilty would it have made a difference as to if you believed her testimony or not in view of her history of dishonesty and deception re the cheque fraud?

I do take the point that JB had a newspaper deal organised too but that would only been available to him if he had been found  not guilty by the jury appointed

Julie decided to make the deal with the NOW even though she had carried out the cheque fraud, caravan robbery and allegedly known her boyfriend had committed the murders

Jeremy's deal would have been all about allegedly being wrongly convicted etc

Julie's deal was made knowing she was involved in covering up a major murder enquiry

If details of the NOW deal had been available how could the jury possibly know Julie's motives for her evidence against Jeremy?

The deal with the newspaper is something which we all have become used to with the News of the World, indeed it was expected not so many years ago.  The fact that Julie had a deal for I think it was £25,000 while Jeremy wanted a similar deal for £40,000 would not have surprised me in the least had I been on that jury.

The deal would have had no input to my decision Jack, I would have listened to the evidence and taken it from there.

I agree the cheque fraud was silly and fraudulent Jack but students do many things in their youthful madness and when egged on by others.  Do remember that Suzie was in on it with her.
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

If the jury had known Julie's solicitor had made 'the best deal possible' with the press on his client's behalf, I wouldn't have been surprised if Bamber had convinced another juror he wasn't a psychopathic killer and he would literally have gotten away with murder!

Julie didn't have any deal when she walked into the police station to finally clear her conscience though did she Jackie?

I am getting a little sick of the worst stalking internet reclusive troll I have ever experienced constantly attacking a woman who is a wife and mother and who has been a hard working teacher for almost 30 years! I think Julie has fully redeemed herself both in court and her exemplary career since those dark days with Bamber.

I would support Julie over a vicious benefit scrounger any day of the week! What use have you ever been to society Jackie?

Tim what do you think of Mugfords chances of being a teacher in the uk would have been?

Zilch!!!

If JB is in fact guilty I should think those bodies of those children will haunt her forever???

Remember the photos of dear Julie comforting Julie when he was allegedly responsible 'arranging' the murder of two babies
Remember the timing when she was dumped and wasn't going to be lady of the manor at WHF ??

You adore Julie all you like she was bad news and if its true and she knew about the murders 30 years does not change her behaviour

Keep up your personal insults you just show yourself up AGAIN !!!

Just like all the nasty comments you make about me and black people on you tube

Remember Sarah jakes downloaded the lot

I will continue debating the case thank you

You should have stuck to debating the case from day one Jackie but instead you stalked anyone and everyone who disagreed with you or dared to call Bamber what he is .... a vicious killer! Even Bamber has binned you because he was so disgusted with your stalking! Oh the irony!

John, Andy, Shona and many others have all had their private life's trawled by you and even children weren't out of bounds! You never bothered me for an instant but you did upset some good people and I will always treat you with the contempt you deserve!

Everyone knows you would still be posting all your bile if you could get away with it. Or are you saying you have realised that stalking people is illegal and cowardly and decided to amend your appalling behaviour?

Jackie is a reformed character these days Tim.  She assures us she has put all that nonsense behind her for good.  She even apologised for some of it a bit back which took a bit of guts and a little bit of humble pie.  8@??)(

I agree you probably have to question Julie's motives for testifying in court. Personally I think the police told her in no uncertain terms they would look to arrest her to unless she told what she knew. Self preservation was her motive. Whether or not she went along with it and wanted to be the lady of the manor I don't know, I couldn't rule it out. She could have been a Lady Macbeth figure encouraging Jeremy in his mad plans. Perhaps this is true, but if Jeremy were to admit her involvement he would then have to admit his. I certainly don't think she testified and perjured herself in a high profile murder case because she was a woman scorned. That is ridiculous.

If I was a juror I think the pivotal moment for me would have been when Jeremy, accused of lying, said "that is what you have to establish". Not the words of an innocent man. An innocent man would have been furious at such an accusation. And nothing the Bamber supporters can say can alter that.

My view is that Julie was between a rock and a hard place.  She was in love with Jeremy without a doubt but he didn't feel the same way about her.  I sometimes wonder if all  the talk about wanting to get engaged only to have June put her foot down and disallow it was all made up by Jeremy just to get out of a binding relationship.

When Julie realised that Jeremy could very well be implicated in the murders she just didn't know what to do for the best and that is when she started to confide in her college friends. Once the police got wind of it all there was no going back.  I have no doubt whatsoever that the police put considerable pressure on her to cough up the goods on Jeremy.  I also know that Julie found this very difficult to do since she still loved him.

In the end it was him or her and she chose to do the right thing and give him up.  She said in an interview after the trial that she felt sorry for him and I am quite sure she does and possibly still to this day.

Oh I didn't know that David .... I have had every aspect of my private and business life that Jackie could find out thoroughly stalked and no one has told me that Jackie is a 'reformed character'!

If you want to address this with me too Jackie with a view to burying the hatchet then I am quite willing to listen? Your choice.
