Hello Admin, and greetings from a new member

I'd like to start again by writing a longer piece to put on here about why I am interested in miscarriages of justice at all, if anyone would be interested. It started over 50 years ago when I was a volunteer at the old NCCL offices in Camden in the days of Tony Smythe, and off and on during studies and my working life I have been involved tangentially with subjects like child protection. I have been particularly involved with those who are powerless, and have no money, and who are vulnerable to neglect and exploitation. There is no-one more prone to both of those, and to violence than a pre-school child. I have taught and advised on  support for exceptional children and young people at both ends of the intellectual spectrum and I have a close friend who still 'fosters' young adults who need an eye kept out for them because of serious intellectual handicaps. That is another most exploited group.

Help! A whole lot of PM emails sent to you from me, comperedna and other postings recently re avatars, sadie and DCI are meant NOT meant to be posted online. They are about personal problems which I hope we have now got sorted out. Please see they are NOT on public view. This is important. I am not clear what can be seen just by me and what can be seen by other people. Please put anything you have received from me under wraps. I do not yet know the conventions of this site and I do NOT want these posts on view. That means any posta from me to Admin in the last two or three days which is all I have sent to you!

Sorry that your first impressions here were so offputting... but I don't think DCI's Mercury avatar comment was meant in an offensive or insulting way initially, probably just a knee jerk reaction.

You may or may not know that to increase the size of the page and hence font size for easier reading... press the bottom left Ctrl key while simultaneously scrolling your mouse wheel (if you have one) forward or backward to increase or decrease the font scale. If you don't have a scroll wheel, use the + and - keys at the right hand side of the keyboard instead, while still holding down Ctrl. To return to the default page size, press Ctrl and 0 (zero).

If you don't like any of the provided avatars, and eventually decide to use one, why not upload one of your own that you have downloaded from the net to your computer, say to the desktop.

Enjoy the forum if that's possible !
