So, a 64 year old man scales a 25 foot wall and escapes. Part of me wants to laugh at his audacity but he is a convicted killer. How long will he be gone-this time?

I think that people can´t help admiring escapees - even though we all know that it is wrong!
There is a prison in USA, which grants awards to prisoners who are able to pry open the locks of their cells. It is a real problem that the inmates can find a way to get out, so the authorities experiment with different locks to find a type which the inmates can´t open. That´s the reason for the rewards - they want them to try and try!
