Questions :

1)  Is the investigation finished ?

2)  Has the investigation been passed on to another section of SY becaiuse it cuts across investigations into, maybe, other crimes?

3)  Is it at the next stage ?   Prosecution maybe ?



Personally I prefer that no information is given out.  Sometimes we have to trust long established Blue ribbon organisations, in this case to preserve what SY has found

I would say no to all those. SY have achieved nothing, have nowhere left to go and have no plans to prosecute anyone in the Madeleine case.

Are the Portuguese to blame for global warming, the rise of terrorism, and Brexit too? One could be forgiven for thinking so. 

Scotland Yard accepted this case knowing full well how the system worked. If they end up with egg on their faces it's their own fault and no-one else's.

Why will they have egg on their faces?  Most people are grown up enough to realise that the police are not miracle workers and that some cases simply cannot be solved despite the police's best efforts.

It may be that, between them, the 2 forces have solved the crime but not yet located Madeleine. However, I can foresee major difficulties in getting any evidence/proof acquired by UK police accepted in a Portuguese criminal trial, bearing in mind how Cristovao got the recent case against him overturned on appeal as all evidence was gathered by the "wrong" jurisdiction.

I don't think there, will be any egg on SYs face... Perhaps they were expecting the Portuguese to co-operate and launch a JIT

Don't you think they would simply be glad that the case was solved. Not that I think Scotland Yard will solve the case these days.
