Do we really need to?  I would prefer that we didn't.

He is a very sad, little man who wrecked his own life when he could have behaved with dignity.
I think this case has been the making of the man, bringing him fame and riches he never would have enjoyed had a little girl not gone missing on his patch.  Not to mention a whole new look and an earring to boot.

Amaral's finances won't be affected by any ruling made by the ECHR.

Of course they will.  Amaral already owed a lot of money to other people, including The State of Portugal long before Madeleine ever went to Portugal.

No one seems to know who has precedence.  But Amaral made no attempt whatsoever to pay these debts during the period of his acquisition of the money and The Court Case brought by The McCanns, which was nigh on a year.
This is a disgrace.

There is a queue.  But the money has been sequestered.  There won't be much left by the time all of his creditors have been paid.

Debtors, Creditors?  Sorry, my knowledge of The English Language fails me for a minute.

Nothing to do with the European court or any decision they may ultimately make.

Any middle aged man sporting an earring is not a good look.

I thought he look better and more real when he was a mad, fat detective with unkempt hair shouting at The Media.

He just looks like a ponce now imo.  Sad really.

I repeat; nothing the ECHR does will affect any of that.

No, of course not.  You are right.  But Portugal will want their Taxes, along with everyone else to whom he owes money.

He could have paid these Debts willingly.  But he didn't.
