The damages case has been appealed to Portugal's highest court and now allegedly to the ECHR.  Proceedings are therefore ongoing.

So are proceedings, on-going or allegedly ongoing

If this reporter guy has seen the court documents, then he will have seen the case number and ought to be willing to share.
If on the other hand, if all he has seen is a McCann copy of the application form, there may be no case number.

Is Nick casting aspersions on the ECHR judges?

Sources close to the family also fear Brexit may have an impact — with judges taking “vengeance” over Britain leaving the EU by ruling against them.’

Poor, poor them.  Picked on by the PJ, the 'trolls', the media, Amaral, the Portuguese Judiciary, and perhaps the ECHR judges!

Of course Brexit doesn't affect the rights of UK citizens in relation to the ECHR. Something which 'the sources close to the family' seem to be unaware of.

Most assuredly Davel. There is no point in him instigating proceedings if the ECHR won't ratify the Supreme Court's final decision in the original case.

Apparently we will only lose our rights under the ECHR if the UK passes laws post-Brexit to that effect. If they do, perhaps the McCanns will sue their own government? No-one, it seems, is allowed to stand in their way.

he also said he was going to sue the British tabs a few weeks ago.  All hot air IMO.

It's probable it may take more than a couple of weeks?

No way can Amaral sue ... and he nust know that as he has a Court conviction for perjury.

His minor perjury conviction has no relevance to the McCann case Sadie. He is free to sue if he so chooses and I can't see any Portuguese court denying him justice given what has already transpired.

And I can't see the ECHR denying the McCanns justice

Sadly, nor can I.
