If you are going to link his name to this, perhaps you should know where he was at that time.
That is unfair.  The police etc produce these e-fits and asks the public if they know anyone who looks like the e-fit to contact them.

It is the police's role to confirm the alibis.

Anthro at this time is still at the stage of questioning whether there is a resemblance.

Of course I do not know Jos Brech’s whereabouts late April, early May 2007. Therefore I am putting the question. I apologise if I do not adhere to the forum’s principles. I have been a silent member for years. It is only now that I have the courage to contribute.

UPDATE:

Brech’s trial began on 12th December 2018. He faces manslaughter charges, which in the Netherlands means that the killing was not premeditated, as well as charges of depriving of liberty, a sex offence and possession of child pornography. Brech has denied any role in Nicky’s death. He is being defended by Gerald Roethof, a lawyer known for taking on high-profile and controversial cases.

As expected, the defence has so far centred on the DNA evidence against Brech. Although traces of Brech’s DNA were found at least 17 times on Nicky’s body, his lawyer has said that these trace samples – which do not appear to be from blood or semen – as well as three hairs do not prove that Brech was involved in the boy’s death. One hypothesis put forward by Roethof was that Brech’s DNA may have been transferred onto Nicky before died, for example, by both parties using the same hand towel in a public toilet. The lawyer also pointed to the presence of trace DNA on Nicky’s body from three other unidentified people.

Investigators have never been able to definitively establish a cause of death (although police have long believed he was suffocated) and while Nicky’s pyjama pants were inside-out when his body was found, as highlighted by Roethof, none of Brech’s sperm has been found at the scene.

Cue some of the posters here to cheer on the defence lawyer as he tries to discredit "trace DNA" evidence. In all fairness to the accused due legal process means they should be entitled to a defence - I'll concede that.... but why didn't he want to voluntarily submit DNA? And why did he do a runner? Of course that's just circumstantial... but hey!

Thank you, Carana. I don’t know, but apparently Brech has travelled the whole of Europe and beyond, i.e  Poland. There, flags were raised regards his suitability to work with children and especially in scouting groups/camps. I do not know if Brech has been in the Algarve when Madeleine disappeared. I know that he has been to Portugal on his scouting expeditions.

The problem I have with any of the 'known to the authorities' paedophiles is that how would any of them know a child was home alone in 5A with an unlocked patio door?
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

Presumably by observation from 29 April onwards until a predictable pattern emerged.

If this was the usual OM for paedophiles why since the age of mass tourism has this only happened to one child who just so happened to be in an unlocked apartment?

Afaik no one saw anyone hanging around 5A at night including T9.

Plus all the experts agree a child MM's age is not the usual target range for paedophiles.

Please not everyone I used the word 'usual'.  Of course there are instances of paedophiles assaulting and murdering children MM's age and younger but this is not the norm.

According to Operation Grange they are looking at a new suspect who is not Martin Ney but another foreign paedophile. I proposed that Brech, a Dutch paedophile, might be the ‘foreign paedophile’ since he resembles the efit of ‘spotty man’ who has never been identified. I also proposed that Brech might have taken Madeleine for someone else as a favor and/or in exchange for their silence as regards the murder of Nicky Verstappen. He is a highly skilled individual who might have been able to swiftly remove her. He might have also known that he will not easily being suspected because he has a preference for boys.

Oh we don't need bother wih that. The fact that he has been to Portugual makes him identifyible= he dun it?

OK let us have the witnesseses tell us they saw him with MBM AFTER she was reported missing and we have something.  other than that all we have is people say they saw someone.

Miss Taken Identity, your first sentence has reference. You are putting your own cynical spin on what I have posted. It surely is okay to be skeptical, but cynicism to that extreme?

If the drawing is Jos Brech, then he was the man that was watching 5A.

The main problem as I see it, is that Brech "wanted" teenage boys.   As far as I am aware he had no interest in infant girls.

Could it be that someone has employed him to help?

Could it be that someone blackmailed him to help watch  or  abduct?

Remember ... as far as we know he had no interest in young girls, but just in pre pubescent boys.

My cynical spin? let us read what you say.

Great- let us have a named source directly from OG staff - if you have it, if not all hearsay and supporter waffle!

You are proposing- naming  him as a suspect even though you do not know if he was in the country?  And yet as a supporter you would be damanding my head on a pole If I say the parents did it.

It seems quite ok for supporters to scream innocent until proven guilty with regards to the parents. However have no qualms about naming a person who may well be a convicted paedophile, but innocent of the charges you would like made against him?

Besides she was apparently stole to order and is living a happy life.

Because we cannot talk about what would have happened to little3  year old Madeliene at the hands of a paedophile while mummy and daddy were wineing and dining- and setting up a company for legal fees to help them get off with any neglect charges which may have been brought to them...

So If you don' think he did it why mention him?

You have obviously missed the ‘might’ in my post. I have not stated Brech as a suspect. I have put my personal theory on the forum, hoping open-minded members will constructively contribute. And so what if I think the parents had nothing to do with Madeleine’s disappearance and that she might be alive? I guess your next reply will be ‘semantics’.

Neither have OG.

When you can demonstrate that Brech was in the PDL in the days prior to 3rd May, then you might have a point.
A theory with nothing to support it is worthless - IMO

Or maybe not -

You may well be correct and it could be him or someone like him who Grange are looking at...
