Hmmm let me think...child disappears from holiday apartment...parents out night after night...doors unlocked...elderly retired lady lives above...loads of time on her hands to observe comings and goings...sees family during the day...hears child crying at night for some 1.25 hours...crying stops when she hears patio doors open...assumes parents returning...she deduces parents are dining at tapas and leaving patio doors unsecured...shares this knowledge with local friend and ???!!!

That's quite a list of assumptions Holly.

Meanwhile, waiters working at the Tapas Bar could see a baby monitor on a wall near the BRT* & directly witnessed various parents intermittently leaving & returning to the dining table. It didn't take rocket science & the help of an English-speaking waiter to work out what the parents were doing. Those 2 sentences are not intended to attribute guilt to any of the waiters. They're merely to point out that the waiters had far more opportunity to deduce children were being left on their own than an elderly lady who'd braved the elements for hours sitting on her balcony people-watching rather than relaxing indoors in front of the TV.

*Big Round Table for those not familiar with the Textusa saga.

We also know a message was placed in the reservation diary alluding to a group wanting to eat at tapas to keep an eye on their children but none of these people could know that the doors were unlocked.  And who leaves doors unlocked whether small children are home alone or not?  Its highly unusual and would certainly invalidate any holiday insurance taken out by holiday makers and/or the owner's buildings/contents insurance.

PF didn't need to be on her balcony for hours at a time.  She had the advantage of seeing and hearing as she did on 1st May when she heard the patio doors slide open.

Please remember also FGM is on a slope which would afford a good view of the comings and goings of those below.

Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I don't know and am beyond caring who or what FGM is but I do know what FGM is in the real world ... quite unfortunate really in terms of your post.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Well I can't claim to be the originator.  Quite nifty as Rua Doutour Francisco Gentil Martins is somewhat of a mouthful.

Anyway I think maybe its difficult to appreciate the gradient of FGM and the view afforded from PF's balcony of the surrounding area.

That's quite a list of assumptions Holly.

Not really?

- MM disappeared from apartment (unless she woke and wandered and there's not any evidence of this)
- Parents out every night at tapas circa 8.30 pm to late (evidenced by T9 testimony and OC employees).
- Patio doors unlocked (as per testimony of PF/GM/KM/MO and JW.
- Elderly retired lady lives above (as per wit stat)
- Time on hands to observe others around her (retired and without family so would have a lot of free time)
- Saw McCanns during day (as per wit stat).  Would have excellent view from her terrace of pool, creche, tennis courts, tapas and people walking up and down FGM.
- Hears child crying at night (as per wit stat)
- Crying stops when she hears patio doors slide open (as per wit stat)
- Assumes parents returning (as per wit stat)
- Deduces parents dining out at tapas every evening and leaving patio doors open (Assumption on my part she has knowledge parents dining at tapas but she would have birds eye view from her apartment of the whole area and by all accounts the group was loud; remember BO's comments re the group when she was observing from her own balcony)
- Shares knowledge with local friend Edna Glyn (as per wit stat)

They booked a large table every night in the Tapas. We called them "the Doctors". Sometimes we would sit out on our balcony and their laughter would float up around us. One man was the joker. He had a loud Glaswegian accent. He was Gerry McCann.

The Moyes were also sitting on their balcony:

Paul and Susan described how they were sat on the balcony sharing a few glasses of whiskey and "didn't see a soul" between 9pm and 9:30pm.

No reason PF would not have sat on her balcony some of the time and observed what was going down of an evening with T9.  The McCanns were next door to the Oldfields with JT/ROB one removed and the Paynes above the unoccupied apartment between Oldfields and JT/ROB.  What's the betting the group would call out to one another on the balconies.  Some may even have extended the social on the balconies post tapas.

?

I have posted up comments from BO, the Moyes and KM to give some idea about the views from balconies and what could potentially be seen from PF's balcony.
