LOL.  The idea of burying a German Shepherd in a golf bunker is just too bizarre for words, never mind a dead child.  Did your mate get permission for this bunker burial?  How do you know the body wasn’t removed by the Golf Club the first time an unsuspecting golfer thwacked at a ball in the sand and ended up scoring a hole in one with an Alsatian’s eyeball?

Why is it bizarre?  It would be easy digging for one thing.

Why is it bizarre??  Are you serious??  Imagine everyone chose to dispose of their pets in golf bunkers because it was “easy digging”.  If you don’t think taking a dead animal to a golf course to bury it in a bunker is bizarre then there’s nothing I can say to change your mind obviously.

Golf bunkers can be quite deep, it all depends on the site.

Which sites have deep bunkers then, and why?

Technically speaking links courses have deep bunkers, because the bunkers are gouged  / shaped in to the existing terrain utilising the ground material - sand. They import the top layer of sand generally as it's required to be a certain spec.
Boavista is not a links course, however, and I'll be surprised if the sand in the bunkers is not imported and the existing layer is no more than a few inches, then rocky terrain thereafter.

Operation Grange searched in Luz using cadaver dogs. I'm not sure where they searched, but according to some newspaper reports they searched the waste ground and the mound, which were both situated near to Smithman's route. They clearly thought those were possible disposal sites.

Is it really possible that any such burials would fall under the attention of greenskeepers?
Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

My best friend is Head Greenkeeper at a Championship course. He knows a thing or two about grass and all that.
He would know, or his staff would, if any of the playing surfaces had been disturbed during the night, as they tend to every square inch every day, fixing fox ruts, rabbit digs, moles, etc. You couldn't dig up light rough, for example, without someone noticing something. Similarly with the bunkers - they'd know someone had been mooching about as a minimum.
The rough and Out Of Bounds however, don't receive much if any daily attention. There's usually wooded areas, as on his course, which would serve as a far more suitable location than a bunker.

I think the point of Search and Rescue dogs is just that: they look and if they are successful they find.

I wonder why it took so long for anyone to show enough interest to take notes of their work until Rebelo was firmly ensconced in the co-ordinator's chair?

On the 7th of May, Rex and Zarus showed a great deal of interest in apartment 5J of the apartment block.  In their desperation to locate the missing child the PJ seem to have omitted to search an empty apartment in the same block from which she had disappeared.

Therefore not only is there a feasibility of disposing of a small child's body in the immediate area there is the feasibility that she was transported within that timescale of six days after her disappearance to anywhere within six days travel from Luz that you may care to suggest.

May I remind members that no-one has yet come up with intelligence or proof that Madeleine McCann died in Luz if she is dead at all, let alone speculating on the feasibility of her burial there.

The S&R dogs scent off skin rafts which we all shed at the rate of 40,000 per min.  If MM was placed in a car (airtight) within the immediate vicinity her skin rafts would no longer be available for the dogs to scent on and imo this is what happened.

GA took note of them its one of the reasons he was dismissive of 'Tannerman' rightly so imo.

The S&R dogs deployed on 4th May are going to be more reliable than those deployed on 7th May.

Thanks.  And if anyone wanted to bury/conceal something in the wooded areas they would first need to get whatever to said place which is probably no mean feat in itself?  A golf course by definition is not off the beaten track so why attempt to bury/conceal in such a location when numerous isolated spots exist?

I don't think it did.

The intruder who gained entry to holiday homes to attack the children must obviously have carried out a reconnaissance of some kind prior to entry.

A chance passing when the parents parents were leaving the apartment ... a drink at the bar to check the lie of the land  ... would have provided all the information necessary.

Must they? I don't think we know enough about these cases to have any understanding about them?

This would not be enough to understand MM was home alone.

Gerry McCann was not dismissive of Tannerman.

"The investigators are based in Spain because we believe Madeleine is most likely to be in the Iberian Peninsula or North Africa. They have also released a sketch of an eyewitness who saw a man carrying a small child away from near the apartment on the night Madeleine disappeared. We believe this child was Madeleine."

I doubt that anyone who had the temerity to kidnap a child could ever be described as "your average Joe".  In my opinion there are many locals, many ex-pats and many frequent holidaymakers or visitors who are in possession of exactly that type of information.

Walking into an unsecured apartment to abduct a small child 'home alone' is one thing.  Quite another to outwit a search expert of the calibre of Mark Harrison MBE.
