Madeleine McCann's parents' poignant Christmas message to supporters.

Kate and Gerry McCann posted the message as they face their 13th Christmas without their daughter, who vanished aged three while the family were on holiday in Portugal.

The parents of Madeleine McCann have said the search continues with "unwavering commitment" in a Christmas message to supporters.

The message, on the official Find Madeleine Facebook page, said "nothing has changed".

It added: "We love her, we miss her, we hope as always.

"Thank you to all our supporters for your steadfastness and compassion this year again and your warm Christmas wishes."

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, both doctors and devout Catholics, have always pledged never to give up the search for their daughter.

In a statement, the 12th anniversary of her disappearance, they said: "The months and years roll by too quickly, Madeleine will be 16 this month.

"It's impossible to put into words just how that makes us feel.

"There is comfort and reassurance though in knowing that the investigation continues and many people around the world remain vigilant.

"Thank you to everyone who continues to support us and for your ongoing hope and belief.

Scotland Yard launched an investigation, Operation Grange, into her disappearance in 2013 after a Portuguese inquiry failed to make any headway.

So far the investigation has cost £11.75 million with the Home Office agreeing to fund the hunt for Madeleine until at least March next year.

Her whereabouts remain unknown, but the case has recently been thrown back into the spotlight by a new eight-part Netflix series.

Let's hope Netflix sticks to the established facts in the case and not get carried away by semantics or threats of litigation which the McCann love to roll out when it suits.

I also hope they expose the criminal conduct by certain individuals post disappearance for which they have yet to answer.
