It does to me.

Have you ever wondered why June's sister and/or niece didn't offer to rehome Crispy directly or indirectly?
Perhaps if they’d been given a few more hours to consider the option and had been told that the alternative for Crispy was sudden death they may have done so.

I've posted previously about a male farmer friend whose long suffering wife kicked him out.  This left him with nowhere to house his shooting/hunting dogs which he kept outside.  He went to the vet to have them put down  but when he found out the cost he decided to shoot them himself!  He started to dig a hole and thought it hilarious when his dogs, who he never even named, joined in and started effectively digging their own graves!  I thought it was horrible and I always remind him of it.
Why did you think it was horrible on this occasion but not when Bamber had hs recently deceased mother’s dog put down in extreme haste?

Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

I think the two cases are polar opposite.  My friend's dogs, who assisted him with his hunting and shooting, belonged to him and he shot them thinking it was funny that they helped dig their own graves!  Horrible.  I think he now feels ashamed about it when I remind him.  I suspect at the time he did it out of anger/spite from his wife kicking him out.

Crispy, aka the Pest, was not JB's dog and he made clear he disliked the dog pre murders. He asked around if any of the family wanted him and they didn't so he had Crispy put down by the vet which was dignified and humane.

Whether or not he liked the dog is immaterial in my view.  Having animals killed because you don’t like them strikes me as quite immoral.  Having an animal killed that you love and cherish to put it out of its suffering is understandable.  Bamber spent no more than a few hours trying to find an alternative solution for Crispy and even when the vet offered to take him alive Bamber still wanted him dead.  Very humane, I’m sure!

PS: it does demonstrate that killing things he didn’t like was no big deal to Bamber.

You, Caroline and others here have condemned JB because he did not attempt to rehome Crispy and emphasised that it was his mother's beloved pet.  I've now produced evidence which according to JM shows he did attempt to rehome Crispy with the relatives including June's sister but no one wanted him.  But according to you JB is still in the wrong because he should have given them more time and they might have changed their minds!

The relatives knew from the moment they heard about the deaths what they did and didn't want!

Right so now you are holding up JM as a bastion of the truth, she must also be telling the truth that Jeremy confessed his role in  the killings then.
That aside, you have spectacularly missed the point.  This is not about JB’s relatives, it is about his actions and the speed and ease with which was able to order the death of pet belonging to his mother (murdered only hours earlier) when the pet was offered a reprieve by the vet sent to dispatch it.

I'm sure the 'poor Crispy' brigade know very well that pets in the 1980's weren't doted on like they are today. Injured, sick or unwanted dogs were often put down without a second thought.

Nothing JM supposedly told the police about JB's involvement with murdering his family could be corroborated by independent others ie those who had nothing to gain by JB's conviction.  With regard to Crispy all concerned could corroborate with June's sister.  I would also point out that when JB returned to his cottage on 7th Aug he was surrounded by numerous others incl police, family and CC.

The point is the family could have saved Crispy!

Yes I don't really know why I'm bothering!

There's a pet shop near my local Waitrose and one day when I walked past some containers caught my eye which at first glance looked like expensive shampoos for humans.  Curiosity got the better of me and I found they were very expensive shampoos but for dogs!  I couldn't believe the range of products and the cost of some of them.

He could have given him to Battersea Dogs Home en route to Maida Vale.

Hardly difficult.

Talking of Maida Vale have you found the info which corroborates your assertion that SC had her nails professionally manicured and polished in Maida Vale?

I wouldn't say that statement is entirely correct.

Dogs, and cats, have always been loved by British families....

Yes, some people aren’t animal lovers, but unless they’re wicked they wouldn’t hurt one, such as throwing big stones a baby ducklings or having healthy dogs put to sleep, simply because they don’t like the dog
