A friend had a small terrier which did that. Eventually I complained because it was painful, but she just shrugged. The dog came at me one day when she wasn't in the room and I back-heeled it right on the nose. She commented after that about how the dog danced round me as opposed to attacking. I kept my mouth shut, but with a little private smirk.
