There’s no evidence Sheila EVER harmed her children. NONE. Indeed, she adored them.

We may not know Sheila’s exact state of mind on that last day, but witnesses testified how she struggled to walk; was stiff; and walked extremely slowly. The physical symptoms of her Haloperidol were evident for all to see.

Likewise, we can’t know JEREMY BAMBER’S state of mind, either...

What we do know, though, is that he phoned Julie and told her “tonight’s the night”; that he phoned the local police at 3:25am claiming Nevill had just rang him — when it was impossible for him to have done.

A child could work out who the murderer was....providing they were of average intelligence 😌

Yes, we know what time Jeremy phoned the police, as it was logged.

We know what he ALLEGEDLY said to Julie.

Only one witness said Sheila was struggling to walk (have posted about this previously).  I do agree, however, that she seems to have adored her children. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean that she could not have harmed them.

I hope I am of above average intelligence, but I cannot work this thing out!!!

Yes, and that was just one of his downfalls: the police were able to determine exactly what time he called the police; called Julie; and how it didn’t fit with the alleged call Jeremy said Nevill made to him.

As for the one witness who saw Sheila and said she was walking stiffly like a zombie: it only takes ONE witness to blow a bull & clock story to smithereens.  But the shopkeeper also said Sheila was quiet and withdrawn that day, so she obviously wasn’t bubbly, and certainly not manic/psychotic or jumping around chasing the children...

What you say Jeremy “allegedly” said to Julie when she recounted it in court was believed by the jury, so it’s safe to say Jeremy DID say “tonight’s the night”. He was found guilty, remember, Mrs Wah.

It’s absolutely true that Sheila adored her children, which is why Colin shared joint custody with her. As she’d never once hurt her children in any single way, and was actually a wonderful mother, creating fantastic birthday parties for them, taking them on picnics, to play centres etc...babysitting her friends children, having the twins friends stay for sleepovers, proves all her close family and friends trusted her implicitly with not just her own children but theirs too .

Actually MrsW - we don't know what time he called the police, that's an aspect where there is still much confusion and an aspect Bamber manipulates to suit his 'claim of the moment'.

Wasn’t there some confusion as to whether Jeremy Bamber phoned the local police at either 03.26 or 03.36?

Seemingly, the police officer who took the call logged it down as as 03:26 when it was actually 03:36, or vice versa

Whatever, JB definitely didn’t ring the police BEFORE 03:26, and as there’s some confusion over what time he called Julie — some say it was as early as 03:00, some say 03:10, but whatever of those times are correct it was definitely before 03:15 when Jeremy claimed he received a call from Nevill.

We may not know exactly what time, but we do know more or less----if we are to believe PC West's records, and I assume they are reliable.

It was PC Wests record that was assumed to be in error at trial but I'm not so sure now.

Neither, it seems, is Jeremy.

It was logged as 03:36 but for years Bamber argued that it was 03:26 even going so far as to accuse PC West or perjury and wanting him prosecuted. Then someone had the idea that Nevill made a call to the police, now he saying 03:36 is the correct time. I told him in order to claim this, he was altering what he had said from the beginning and he didn't like it. He thinks people are stupid and that they might not notice the total turnaround.

What he actually said in the very beginning was that he called the police immediately after NBs supposed call at 3.10 ( 1st W/S)

It's utterly unclear to me how long he was on the phone but 5-10 minutes was mentioned. He was certainly on hold for some time because he complained to PC West about him taking so long, stating that his father had sounded terrified.

Whatever the true time of the call, Bamber did not act as though his father had sounded terrified in any of his varying accounts. His dilly dallying in such a situation is inexplicable.

And according to Keiron Saunders of the Sun newspaper - 8th August 1985

“Jeremy was on the phone to his father from his home in the nearby village of Goldhanger when he heard a shot echo down the line”

So you don’t think Bamber told this to Keiron Saunders then ?

An early attempt to put misinformation into the public domain perhaps? Something he has been doing ever since.
