I don't think Colin Sutton can be described as daft, and I know I'm not daft. Operation Grange did not attempt to eliminate the McCanns, and by mentioning the PJ you seem to be agreeing with Rowley, who seemed to be suggesting that the PJ did so successfully. It's quite clear from their files that they did not. They were unable to incriminate them, but they certainly didn't eliminate them.
The problem you have with that sceptic mantra is that the Germans managed to reach where they are without reference to any of the previous suspects that the Policia Judiciaria and Scotland Yard investigated.
They started with a totally clean sheet to arrive at a criminal who is a paedophile and a rapist who according to Amaral had already been investigated by the PJ ~ although I think he may be backtracking a little from that in his latest interview.
I wonder why it is that you are unable to bring yourself to granting the same respect to the McCanns and Murat that you give to that man who is very much the focus of the present active investigation into what happened to Madeleine.
Bearing in mind that there is no question that money will dictate German action in the pursuit of justice the Brits are yet again going cap in hand for funding to keep the investigation into the fate of a British child viable.
Internet detectives really are not on a par with the real deal carrying out a current investigation just as a retired detectives who never worked on the case or had anything to do with it really shouldn't be sticking his oar in either.
That goes as well for retired detectives who did work on the case spreading disinformation about it.
The mistakes of 2007 plagued this investigation for many years but I think 2021 may be the beginning of the end for the perpetrator/s and those who may have shielded them as indicated by the zeal and success being shown by international law enforcement on tracking paedophile internet traffic.
