Yes here's my evidence - the fact that according to her father she is still traumatised by the sighting ( presumably because she believes that she saw Madeleine's abductor) would tend to suggest that the police did not consult with her, did not get her to identify Martin Green and therefore could not have properly eliminated her sighting https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11805709/portuguese-police-ignore-statement-madeleine-mccann/#:~:text=Gordon%20Sillence%2C%2061%2C%20said%20his,lurking%20outside%20the%20McCanns'%20flat.

Hilarious. As evidence I post an official document and you post a error riddled piece of fluff from the Sun....the Sun.....absolutely priceless.

Madeleine was on the balcony as the man stared up at her.....absolutely priceless.

Tell you what VS, come back to me with a credible source and you may convince me to take you seriously.

Let’s dissect the article.

‘ Gordon Sillence, 61, said his girl Tasmin, then 11, twice saw a man who looked like Christian B lurking outside the McCanns’ flat.’

Tasmin was 12, you’d have thought her dad would have known that and she has never said publicly that the man she saw looked like Brueckner.

‘She even saw a little girl, believed to be Madeleine, on the balcony being watched by the prowler.’

Nope that didn’t happen either.

‘ A photofit was made with her description of a fair-haired man with pockmarked face and sunglasses’

Nope she didn’t say that either.

‘But Mr Sillence, who used to own the Praia da Luz apartment where Madeleine holidayed, said cops seemed more interested in an older suspect and the McCanns themselves.’

Nope Tasmin’s grandmother owned the apartment.

‘ The martial arts instructor said: “At the time there was a lot of ill-feeling here against the McCanns’

Not true. In the beginning there was a lot of support in the village for the parents.

Shall I go on?

Mr Sillence, 61, told The Sun how his daughter - now 24 - was left haunted by the sighting of the man and remains traumatised to this day.

Haunted & traumatised because.......she saw a man.

What a sheltered existence she must lead, living in fear of seeing men as they stand around doing nothing.

Thank goodness she never witnessed something genuinely traumatic, like a murder or abduction,

The poor snowflake would melt.

So an interview with the woman’s father is not a credible source?  Are you claiming the Sun made up the story or that Mr Sillence is lying?  Which?

Perhaps if the adults hadn’t tried to convince her that she’d definitely seen Madeleine’s abductor then she wouldn’t be so traumatised...which, for the record, I don’t believe for one moment she is.

Tasmin was just a young girl caught up in a circus not of her making. She was completely honest in what she saw but it is more likely than not that her sighting had an innocent explanation....Redwood definitely thought that it was a possibility.
Erm...you've changed your tune somewhat since this morning - haven't you?  She's gone from being completely honest to being "a hustler trying to make a buck".  Which is it?

Strangely she never mentions him in her statement as living in PDL, just her mother and grandmother.

If only Mr Sillence had read the files he would have been aware that his daughter’s sighting had been identified and the man wasn’t Brueckner. It would certainly have spared his blushes.

Given that the entire planet have a good idea what CB looks like, have there been any follow up stories from the Sillence's identifying our man?
Or could it be that the PJ showed them a picture of Green and that was the end of that?

Not according to Gordon Sillence (now in order to proceed with the discussion you may want to call into question his integrity).

Far be it for me to do that, he seems like a decent chap. He's in to martial arts, so he gets my vote.
But if Mr Sillence could clear the whole thing up for us, that would be pretty useful. Maybe just ring the appeal line HCW set up. Having said that, if it was him, then he would have said so by now, I'm sure.
Martin Smith has clarified that CB was not his man, so it can be done.

Mr Sillence was not the person who saw the man, but had the PJ reassured his daughter when she was 12 that the man she saw was perfectly innocent and nothing to do with the disappearance then that would have saved her years of anguish about the whole thing (cue more Spam sneering).

So - either the PJ didn't do that, or they did and Sillence (who still lives in Portugal) is being unfair to the local police force.

You decide which version is more credible.  He can be contacted by email, if you want to drop him a line to clear up matters.

I don't have any skin in this game. But I reckon he would choose the right path and identify CB, or otherwise, on his daughter's behalf, if he's aware of the ongoing investigation (and I'm sure he is, if he's alive and has eyes).

There's a chance he's been approached by the police or the press many times and may be sick to the eye teeth with it.

Edit: Hang on, he said the PJ did show him a picture, but it wasn't CB - but doesn't say whether it was Green. What? So let me get this in a line - his daughter sees a man a few times, the police are told at the time, the PJ talk to her and show her a picture of who can only be Green - so was it him or not?

Edit: and have you seen the efit? Dude's bald.
