Do you not remeber the documentary by amaral accusing the McCanns...and his book. There was no talk of theories at the time. Why is it now taht posters are so concerned with the POI of CB and not of the McCanns
That was before I decided to look into this case.  I can't say there weren't posters concerned for the McCann's POI.
Weren't you?

So you think you can say "CB murdered her" and not imply "CB is guilty of murdering her"?  They seem the same to me.
Otherwise, the death could have been accidental or unintentional (manslaughter). And there is a time limit on those crimes in Portugal.  Could he admit to manslaughter once the 15 year period is up in order to limit the chances of being charged with murder?

He says the evidence shows that CB murdered her.. He doesn't say it proves... There is no time limit in Germany.

I was but sceptics weren't... Yet they are now concerned when it applies to CB

Shows means proves, doesn't it?  Where does the crime of murder occur?  If it were in Portugal, you'd think the Portuguese law applies.

No.  "Shows" doesn't mean  "Proves".

What is the law on this?  Can you be tried in any country willing to take on the case?
That is why I asked "Where does the crime of murder occur?", I was thinking if the Germans say she was taken back to Germany then the murder could have occurred in Germany.
But the abduction in that scenario would have occurred in Portugal but it is getting too late to charge someone with abduction now.

Given the precedent that the 2005 rape of an American in Portugal by a German suspect (later found guilty) by a German court seemed to have the full co-operation of all law enforcement agencies involved leads me to think that you might be fighting dragons that don't exist.
No objection was raised on those grounds in the European Court.

I don't think it is too late for charges to be brought if there is supporting evidence.
The precedent has been set with the rape case which was outwith the Statute of Limitations in Portugal but not Germany and perhaps with others we know nothing about.

I think if Herr Wolters has enough evidence to enable Madeleine's case to be lawfully tried in Germany where it can be conducted at leisure I don't see any objections being made to that situation.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

"AMSTERDAM 11 February 2021 The German police have declared that a German national Christian B. is the new prime suspect in the case of abduction and murder of British girl Madeleine McCann, who disappeared from her parents’ holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007. The federal police are convinced that Madeleine’s abductor is sitting in a German jail, where he is serving a sentence for raping a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz – the same holiday paradise where Madeleine was abducted.

Prime Suspect: The Madeleine McCann Case is a three-part discovery+ Original documentary series that has been produced by Danish Heartland TV and directed by Jesper H. Grand. The documentary series examines the new German suspect Christian B for the first time, and his link to one of the world’s most well-known unsolved cases: Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. Friends of the suspect, an ex-girlfriend and other key persons in the case, including the suspect’s defense counsel, the German prosecutor and the former Portuguese investigator, have all chosen to participate in filming this documentary. ....'"

If everyone deserves the presumption of innocence how do you have a documentary saying CB did it?

Is the secret just to call CB "the prime suspect"?

As a prime suspect, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court.

I can accept that.

No matter how "convinced the police are".

What chance a fair trial ( won't come to it imo) when his lawyer could rightly provide evidence of docu's saying his client did it before even questioning his client had begun, is Wolters taking part, is he resigned to knowing no evidence to convict is available nor likely to.

Small video clip from the program here (I think)  https://www.tyla.com/entertaining/tv-and-film-madeleine-mccann-suspect-refuses-talk-documentary-christian-bruckner-20200723

saying "In a new ITV documentary airing tonight, Rogério Alves - family lawyer for Kate and Gerry McCann - says time is running out on the Madeleine McCann investigation.

In a clip from the upcoming programme, Madeleine McCann: The Hunt For The Prime Suspect, Rogério explains in Portugal, there is a "15 year barrier" to manslaughter, homicide and kidnapping and as we know, the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine has now been ongoing for over 13 years.

The documentary will also delve into one piece of evidence that a phone allegedly belonging to Brückner was 'pinged' by a cell phone tower in Praia da Luz on the night Madeleine went missing.

"We have a 15 year time barrier to manslaughter, to homicide, also to a certain kind of sexual offences and even to the most serious kind of kidnapping. So we are still on time. But time's getting short now," he explained.

In a second clip from the programme, public prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters explains: "We're now looking for the other person who was on the call. We want to know what they talked about.

"But we also want the other person to tell us who they were talking to. The data only shows that the phone was there, not who used it. That's why the other person on the call would be so important to us.

"They could tell us who they spoke to, possibly our suspect. In that regard, it could result in a conviction."

As criminal law specialist, Dr Alexander Stevens points out in the clip however, the biggest challenge for prosecutors when it comes to witnesses is that "any confidante would have to incriminate himself.

"Once you are involved in a murder crime they would have to at least be sentenced to 10 years in prison so the chances of getting someone to come forward are actually quite low."

Time is running out on the case (Credit: PA)"

"But we also want the other person to tell us who they were talking to. The data only shows that the phone was there, not who used it.

From the piece, unequivocal they don't know, they cannot tell who used the phone registered to CB.

We just don't know at this stage.  That person may have come forward by now.

Possible, its also possible a alibi was provided, its not advanced to questioning CB has it ? one person crime spree, so what stops Wolters questioning him ?  does Wolters have to question him as a suspect ?  not just a person of interest, world of difference.

All this worldwide publicity will be doing something.  In fact, with the right legal advice it will make him say nothing.
Will the other inmates be giving him a hard time in prison?
