I prefer expectations.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.

What is interesting to me is that those who have supported the McCanns have spent years castigating sceptics for suggesting that Madeleine might be dead. Insisting (like her parents) that there was no evidence that she was dead.
Saying that Operation Grange were searching for her (someone even suggested they knew where she was and had her under surveillance).

Then a German prosecutor says she was murdered and not a word of protest is heard. Even the  fact that he did so (imo) without preparing Madeleine's parents is accepted. Suddenly their feelings are of no importance. There are a few suggestions that the Germans might be wrong and the child might still be alive, but not many.

It's like the supporters knew deep down that the child died, and that they thought the parents knew too, despite years of denial imo.
I always thought Madeleine died on the 3rd May or shortly thereafter- I’m sure it’s crossed the parents’ minds too, but that is utterly beside the point.  Until it is know for certain there is always this thing called hope, the possibility thst your worst fears are wrong.  Do you understand this?

What is so wrong with hoping that Madeleine is still alive?  It's The Sceptics who have always wanted Madeleine dead and actively so.  Thirteen Years of it.  A child given up on.  I think that is awful.
Very true.  If Madeleine had turned up alive they would have looked extremely foolish and even more hateful than they looked already so of course they needed her to be dead.

It was so long after Amaral's interview with the Australian it was unlikely to be a response. As to 'damage limitation' Wolter's public declarations revealed both the weaknesses of his case and his disregard for the feelings of the child's parents imo.

I don't think there was much of a response to the Australian podcast to be honest, with the usual exceptions.  Perhaps Amaral's 'message' was too cryptic for the media or the general public.

As a result, Amaral had to break cover and put the message about again ~ this time using the vehicle of an interview on Spanish television.
On this occasion eliminating Ney while fingering ANother.

Both these excursions into publicising an active missing person case which the authorities were officially keeping shtum about were dated prior to the Germans going public and asking for information.

In my opinion Amaral most definitely jumped the gun when he publicised that information.  His interventions are very likely the reason why the Germans are now keeping what information they have to themselves the leaky sieve of the Judicial police to civilians having been categorically proved yet again.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

I have to agree. It shows a total disregard for the parents suffering and is extremely unprofessional by British standards.

Amaral used both occasions of disclosing confidential operational information to the world's media to take further opportunity to vilify Madeleine's parents and was still doing so in his latest incursion in the media.

I think he wrong footed the German investigation which in my opinion was not ready for disclosures of this type to be made public ~ they were still digging information on Brueckner.

It is also to be remembered that apart from releasing information at a very sensitive time on an active case ~ losing no opportunity to sully Madeleine's parents' reputation yet again ~ he very deliberately and with malice aforethought publicly released false information likely to mislead the German investigation.

I think that is far more problematic than the Germans and Briish police getting their wires crossed as they tried to sort out the breaches in confidentiality caused by Amaral publicising operational matters.

Have these sceptics not realised that if Maddie died in an accident that they covered up then whatever Wolters said would not affect them.

Absolutely but supporters don’t believe that and it is their lack of concern for the parents that is most troubling.

I'm sure the McCanns were well aware that the Germans had CB as their prime suspect well before any announcement

You see, again, that just blind faith. You have absolutely no evidence of that and, in fact, there is evidence to the contrary.

No lack of concern.. I'm sure the McCanns knew already that CB was nos now the main suspect..

Not blind faith but simple logic. SY knew CB was being investigated... I'm sure they would have kept the McCanns updated

I see the anti christ Amaral gets the blame for a letter which may or may not have been delivered, for some one who was we are repeatably told was sacked some 13+ years ago he doesn't half have influence, even over the Germans, yeah  right.

I think Amaral has the answers to some questions worth being asked and I think they may very well be ~ he is already having to tone down if not retract some of his former assertions.

I think your description of Amaral in your post is abusive unless you can substantiate it.  He is and is known as a 'disgraced cop' why do you think he is the anti Christ as well?

IMO motivation for some around this case has gone beyond concern for Madeleine or her parents and is now simply about being right.
