Correct.
Well thats fine,Vertigo.
I'm sure I can have a civilized discussion with Faith about Bamber. He will no doubt get a mention on the forum here again when the CCRC decision is finally made.
Do you think JB is guilty?

Indeed Joe. I’d be interested in your point of view. I’m not deeply invested in the case so my opinion is probably not as informed as yours.
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

Oh i'm no expert on the case by any means, Faith, some of the members on the various websites know every detail of every statement and every book written about the case, no doubt there are some of those here.
No, after looking at the case I decided to come down on reasonable doubt due to the obvious anomalies shall we say, the silencer being found by the relatives after the police had vacated the farm house, Julie waiting a month to come forward, JB passing the lie detector, the uncertainty of the blood inside the silencer belonging to Sheila and how it got there. And of course the destruction of the crime scene exhibits in 1996.
Just the obvious things really, just enough for me to go for reasonable doubt.
And since then of course we have Philip Boyce's Aga evidence which could be very important if accepted.
This would mean that either the police moved Nevill from the Aga to the chair/scuttle after entry to the WHF at 7.35 or the burns were caused earlier that night before Nevill was shot to death, either way, the burns favour an innocent JB.
So, I believe this is a very important CCRC submission for JB if the Aga burns are accepted.
Of course the campaign team say they have proof of the 6.09 phone call from inside the house along with other proof of JBs innocence too.
Anyway, it is probably JBs last chance at freedom at his age, we will know in the near future, Faith, until then there isn't much more to say.

Stephen Downing was seventeen and had the reading ability of an eleven-year-old. "The court also analysed the confession evidence and found that there had been breaches of relevant rules and that the confession was not reliable."  One wonders what the result would be if these ideas were applied to the present case.  BTW I also found this at a different site:  "However, as he [Downing] did not admit to the crime, he was classified as in denial of murder and therefore ineligible for parole."

Unfortunately I think that ship has sailed wrt to Faith. I have no problem with you or your views however as you have a non combative attitude and are not unpleasantly personal when discussing these matters.

Did you know that the average reading age of UK adults is 9?  Shocking I know!

Also I suggest you read this from the section entitled Later Investigation onwards

I resist the notion that discussion of the Downing case is off topic.  The fact that he spent additional time because he maintained his innocence is one aspect that makes it pertinent to the present case.

The Wikipedia article is woefully biased.  I suggest that the BBC article, whose link is above, is a better source of information.  "With Hale's help, Mr Downing won ?13,000 from the Legal Aid Board.  This paid for a modern forensic examination of the weapon, crucially revealing Mr Downing's fingerprints were not present - although there was a bloody palm print from an unknown person."  The blood is a time stamp, and a palm print can be useful in identifying or ruling out an individual.  The lack of forensic evidence (Mr. Downing's fingerprints in this instance) can be helpful, just as in the present case.
