Interesting.  Nothing from Sceptics about my demise.  That is really funny.

As it is, I think that Davel is almost certainly right.  Much as it grieves me.  But it was all such a long time ago.  And I can't get really upset about this anymore.

Gunit seems to have survived the cull, but then that is what it was all about.  I haven't just come up The Clyde on a water biscuit.  My days have been numbered for quite some time.  And I knew that.

Sadly, I can only reiterate, so not a lot of use.

But I do believe that Brueckner tried to set up an alibi on that night.

With regard to the bolded text above, I would just like to record that I've no idea what you're talking about. I have no knowledge of how or why you ended up where you are, and wasn't involved in any way shape or form.

I salute Eleanor who is one of the most even handed and fair moderators one could ever have wished for even during the most difficult times (and some of those a rational person would find difficult to believe, it took us a long time to work it out, and unfortunately confidentiality dictates my discretion so I can't share) - but as she has always said - the forum is not a democracy and at the end of the day John takes the final decisions, backed up by his mod team.  Of whom Eleanor and I were his staunchest support for the ethos behind what he tried and did achieve with this forum at a time when it was a very difficult thing to do.

That is water under the bridge now because the times have most certainly changed now and there is only a rump which doesn't recognise that.  But Eleanor has stuck with it through thick and thin and I wish her many happy years of posting.

Yes, Eleanor has never been afraid to “scold” her own side for their naughtiness  and that is definitely a measure of her even-handed approach.  Being a mod is a thankless task, I know because I was one for a while and it literally nearly gave me a nervous breakdown.

I have decided to do a full moderator review given recent events and as it is badly overdue.

Anyone wishing to provide an input to this process please message me.

I'd sooner put it in the open, davel for all his faults would make a half decent mod imo.

I think the CSI dogs reacted as they were trained to do but the interpretation of those reactions left much to be desired.

Certainly too much evidential weight was afforded them without corroboration.

Wonder what the stance of some would be if Wolters came back and said the dogs alerted to cadaver.

It will all become apparent in an hour or ten.  But I am back because I am no longer restrained.

Whether or not this will be of any use remains to be seen.  Probably not.  I might have lost the will to go on repeating everything we already know.  Nine years of Moderating has been hard.

Brueckner will probably refuse to say anything, which will be his ultimate demise.

Why ? whats in the German criminal system that punishes for silence.

With respect - my post was about Eleanor, not you per se.
I used your post as a convenient vehicle for comment to keep the discussion together with a subliminal nod to topic of keeping boxes stacked together with Eleanor's comment in the lead.  No ulterior motive from me and I know nothing of why Eleanor chose to mention your name in her post.

My reaction would be that he must be barking (HCW that is, not the dogs).

Its so significant that sceptics think that's a possibility... An absolute joke imo
