“You have me at a disadvantage regarding an Ivan Nikolov - do you have any more details please?”

I thought she was talking about another person called ‘Nikolov’ or is it a subtitle error? Like you say, Nicole F. I have no additional information for ‘Ivan’ and just know the name came up in connection with CB and NF.

I'm 99.9% sure it's a subtitle error. If I remember correctly, the name Nikolov appeared in the subtitles more than once in the sequence as Jutta was speaking to the unidentified friend of Nicole about the ******683 mobile number but the friend said she recognised the number as Nicole's.

Creative license, queen, to paint the mental picture. Funny? No. Effective? Clearly.
The second bit? I beg to differ. There's no money. It's all gone now. There's no strategy, no collaboration, no assistance being offered; the well has run dry. Irrespective of public opinion, as, £15 million later, SY haven't really been arsed about that, they're not like a pacemaker dropping out of a 1500m race to give Steve Cram the best chance of beating Coe, they simply can't justify the inverse cost benefit analysis any longer.
Dick came back and essentially said 'they've got some dude fingered, but we're still looking for a missing person'. That's semantics to explain the ongoing nature of OG. Read between the lines and I'll bet she struggled to contain herself when presented with the shit show rolled out by HCW et al.

All complete speculations or outright false representations. The only accurate statement in there was that your joke wasn't funny.

So this phone. I assume it didn't pop in to existence on 3rd May 2007. So there's a call log stretching back from the minute he registered it (under his own name, bizarrely).

The phone wasn't registered under his name, that's not how they found out the number belonged to him. The call records for the phone are unlikely to exist now, the mobile companies are required to delete private data after a certain amount of time due to data protection laws so the current investigation would have been limited in establishing his call history. If they'd picked up this number at the time, it would have been a different matter. Same with the other number as they'd likely be able to trace it via the other people/numbers they'd called

OK, so how are they so sure that it was his phone that was being called ?
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

Because they have other evidence he was using that prepaid number.

Whether he was using it that night is what they are trying to prove beyond doubt. Hence the appeal.

Why do you keep saying £15 million, when it is 13 million?

You are not Gunit in disguise are you?

Put it right, there's a dear.  More than one post is affected; people will think it's the truth if you repeat it often enough ... and you wouldn't want that, would you?

Pots and kettles Sadie. Brueckner didn't live in Luz in May 2007 unless you've got an address?

Where did he live in  May 2007 and what does it matter where he lived then anyway?

My post above has been edited by G-Unit and now makes me look stupid.  Thanks G-Unit.

Where did he live in June 2007 and what does it matter where he lived then anyway?

I think it matters little exactly where Brueckner lived when Madeleine disappeared.  The fact that he had been a local for a number of years who was very familiar with the area - had contacts there - had transportation in and out of the village etc is the important issue.

The German documentary - which is no longer available - has interviewed people who claim that he had worked as a handyman in the Ocean Club.

Anyway - I think it is significant that an unattributed rumour in the British media outweighs the number of boxes ticked by Brueckner and has been leapt upon with such eagerness as evidence of failure.  Patently it is not but is worthy of future reference when claims are made about the purity of those who treat such sources with disdain.  Quite obviously that is not actually the case and never has been.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

My point was G-Unit stated as fact that he didn’t live in Luz in 2007, which must mean she knows for a fact where he WAS living, and she also referred to June 2007 which is a month after the disappearance and so barely relevant to events on 3rd May.

Oh please! On what basis do people claim he was living in Luz? Evidence, rumour or wishful thinking?

Oh please yourself!  On what basis do you claim he was not living iin Luz?  You stated it as fact so you need to supply a cite to back up your claim.  Furthermore what is the significance of June 2007 to his whereabouts  at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance in May?

Sneaky editing of posts going on above btw.  You have now made a mockery of my post which asked why it mattered where he was living in June and changed it to May to quietly rectify your glaring error.  Disingenuous to say the least!

I would imagine there will be evidence as to where Brueckner was living.  But why do you think it important enough to argue the point.

Surely his actual whereabouts and proximity on the night the crime was committed takes precedence.
