A serious source indeed. The BKA.

I think it clears up categorically that Brueckner's 18 year old 'fling' who was alleged to be his alibi can't give him one for May 3; so that seems to have sorted that one out.  No alibi.
Also a girlfriend who denied being a girlfriend and who sued and won her case and damages against a newspaper for saying she was turns out to have been lying in her teeth.

Very interesting podcast indeed - the mind boggles.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

I can see why Breuckner(s extradition from Italy could be used by his Lawyers.  Even if they fail it will still cause delays. And problems.

Let us not forget that Portugal had the forensic evidence against Brueckner and still failed to act.

Inside this article its alleged the BKA knew about CB in 2013 but ignored it.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10743607/Madeleine-McCanns-parents-welcome-news-German-rapist-Christian-Brueckner-arguido-status.html

Christian Brueckner was flagged as a key Madeleine McCann kidnap and murder suspect years ago by police but the report was ignored by German authorities.

According to German magazine Spiegel, police in Braunschweig sent a report about him being a prime suspect to the Federal Criminal Office (BKA) in 2013, two years before Inga Gehricke, 'Germany's Maddie McCann', disappeared. It was ignored.

Braunschweig police were monitoring the 43-year-old around the clock at the time. The report was triggered after an appeal from British police on a German unsolved crime show, on which the news about Brueckner was also broadcast this week.

Spiegel went on: 'One person did submit a tip about Brueckner but the resulting report from police in Braunschweig to the Federal Office of Criminal Investigation was apparently not acted upon, much to the consternation of the local investigators.'

Brueckner was born to a woman named Fischer but given over to youth authorities at an early age. Between 1992 - when he was 16 - and 1994 he lived in a facility for young people with learning difficulties.

A neighbour told German newspaper BILD: 'There were only bad young people there.'

He was involved in crime across Europe after that.

It would appear that the latest revelations concerning the status of Christian Brückner has served to increase the need for proactive moderation once more. I will be watching very closely for any infringement of the rules for the foreseeable future.

Continued goading and the use of inappropriate language will result in posting restrictions for those concerned.

Unfortunately that also leaves the door open for a new, as yet unknown, witness to be unearthed (in Portugal) and a fresh alibi provided.

In so far as I can see, Brueckner tried to set up an alibi with some girl friend  by saying that he was somewhere else when in fact his phone was in Luz.

Why lie if you have nothing to hide?

I'm sure a sceptic will be along shortly to clarify why giving a duff alibi makes perfect sense.

I am not sure that it even was a duff alibi, although it seemed to be to me..

All of The Experts have an opinion albeit largely contradictory.

I only know that The McCanns didn't do this, for reasons  of simple logic.  You don't have to like them to reach this conclusion.  In which case it had to be someone else.

He's had fifteen years to set up his contingency plans but as time has gone past I think he has become more complacent in thinking this day would never come or the groundwork would have been firmly in place.

It is now necessary to produce a narrative consisting of lies in what I think was a panic knee jerk reaction. We have seen that there are those who are prepared to lie on his behalf and I am sure there will be others.  But from what I have seen of late I think even the margin for reasonable doubt must be shrinking.

UK TV news seems very excited by CB being made an arguido by the Portuguese. Surely they realise that it's no more significant than him being a prime suspect in Germany for the last two years?

It'd s lot more significant. You and others have claimed wolterd is a loose Cannon.. A lone wolf.  Now it's been shown he had the support and backing of the Portuguese.
He has now been questioned and refused to account for his movement's on may 3...despitealreadfy confirming to a journalist he remembers where he was... And who he was with. He has now been questioned. ...without Wolters having to reveal his concrete evidence.  It's being shown Wolters is playing a very clever hand.... Making sure he covers every possibility before acting.. Including the Italisn connection.

I don't know why CB has been made an arguido in Portugal and neither do you. All it means is that he's now a suspect in two countries. In theory one or other of them will charge him, and Portugal have territorial jurisdiction while Germany have nationality jurisdiction.

I haven't seen any confirmation that CB has been questioned.

I think we've had some unattributed statements, but then we've had a lot of those in the last day or two, many of them wildly inaccurate
