The Tories add to the pressure
« on: September 28, 2022, 08:15:42 AM »
As if things weren't bad enough, the new government appears to be making it worse. Will they take any notice of the warnings or will they carry on with their crazy ideas?

They are wilfully engaging in disaster capitalism and they will not stop unless or until they are removed at the next general election.

Well they are known to be fans of Thatcher who, along with Keith Joseph, was a fan of Milton Friedman. If they follow Thatcher's lead then there's a lot more pain coming. What Truss doesn't have is the support that Thatcher had in the country at large.

Given the gloomy UK economic news I suggest it would be a really good idea to keep pumping our money & weapons into Ukraine. I'm not sure how that will help exactly but presumably someone in the government knows.

Thatcher’s popularity began to wane rapidly after her 1979 election victory and only began to turn around thanks to the Falklands War.  Perhaps that’s what Truss is banking on:  victory in Ukraine with Zelensky giving us much of the credit.

Ukraine just lost about 20% of it's territory in referendums so she can forget that.

It seems the UK's credit rating has been destroyed and the housing market is in deep trouble. All resulting from a mini budget. Let's hope this government doesn't get to produce a full budget.

Best make sure you use your vote at the next GE and vote for anyone else but the Tories.

Exactly what I am hoping for, ie that they will lose the next election.

Lab 498 seats. Tory 61. That’s what a 33 point lead would look like at a General Election.

Liz Truss repeatedly lied during her radio interviews today that her government has capped  household bills at £2500 and not one interviewer challenged her on it.  What is wrong with these people?!

I bet Boris and Rishi are having a quiet chuckle to themselves.

If they are they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
