As they don't appear to be making any effort to find an alternative candidate,  they must be satisfied with their identification.

The only people clinging to bundleman are the McCanns & their worshippers.

SY have debunked him, they aren't appealing for any info on him.

He is an ex parrot, he has ceased to be & it's telling that the McCanns won't let go and were reluctant to promote the most credible sighting.

Which man? Innocentman or Sadieman? I'm still picturing a conga line of men carrying children.....

It really is a crock of sh*t isn't it.

Gerry never saw Jane because he had his back to her.

He was standing on the pavement - you have peripheral vision and will hear somebody close brushing past you on a quiet deserted street? Jez couldn't have missed her and he is adamant that he saw nobody on that street. She would have past at a distance of 3 feet at the most - impossible  not to be seen.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Maybe Jez was checking on his charge as Jane slipped by on the inside of the path. It only takes a momentary destraction to miss something and that area beside the private path is unlit.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

On a quiet deserted street in her flip flops you've got to be kidding me. JT is an unreliable witness.

I agree, it is unlikely but possible all the same.

Yep, she would be torn a new one under cross examination imo.

I disagree. It was DCI Redwood's 'moment of revelation'. Tannerman has well and truly been debunked.

Do you not think it strange that even with this witness, SY have refused to come out and say categorically that Tannerman is definitely an innocent man?  This to me implies they still aren't sure for the very reasons we have already explored.

How can you positively identify someone who wasn't there & doesn't even exist.

From about 21 minutes in. Listen to his language. He's sound pretty sure to me.

Especially for Sadie.

Readers should note:

The above is a graphic representation of statements given by Jeremy Wilkins and Jane Tanner in as far as the spot where the chat between Mr Wilkins (with child in buggy) and Gerry McCann took place.  The position is disputed by Mr McCann who claims it took place on the opposite side of the street.  Neither man recalls seeing a woman pass by.

It should also be noted that the encounter took place in the dark with very little artificial light present.

I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

I agree with that train of thought, John.

I think the language used by New Scotland Yard with regard to the man Jane Tanner saw is ambiguous and IMO the sighting has not really been ruled out.

Is there any information about the route that would be taken from the evening crèche by someone legitimately going to an apartment in the direction being taken by the man Jane saw?

I am not sure where the crèche is situated.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....
