There was no confession to murder. It was the witness that said that he believed that Brueckner had killed MM, not Brueckner saying it.

I must have been reading about a different trial, Brueckners cell mate claimed he confessed to abducting a child & burying it. iirc

Bruckner allegedly told a fellow inmate that he had committed several rapes in Hanover and had kidnapped a child in Portugal.  This evidence was heard in court and probably will be again if and when CB is brought to trial for Madeleine’s disappearance.

But you would like to see CB stand trial so all the evidence can be revealed tested in court wouldn’t you?

No, because there is no evidence obviously.

remember this

Madeleine McCann police 'have enough evidence to charge suspect with abduction and murder'
Christian Hoppe, director of Germany's National Crime Agency, said police think they have enough evidence to charge the prime suspect in Madeleine McCann's disappearance with murdering her

The McCann's did not kill their daughter. There isn't even circumstantial evidence to suggest that they did.  Goncalo Amaral who was already corrupt on more than one count was the one who kicked this off. Although why anyone believed him remains a mystery to me.

I did so love Portugal back in the days before this happened, although I was aware of what The Pj were all about. But it wasn't my problem, sad to say.

I Could tell you a tale that might have mattered to Portugal. But they never saw the end of Salazar.  And so there alws was so much more to this.  Amaral was a PJ Officer, raised during The Salazar Regime and indoctrinated. They' were always right, they thought.

Well, No

The ones that kicked all this off in the first place was the  mccs....

I actually think what he did do wrong was....... he didn't look at them close enough in the beginning.

I have always thought booze and small children ...don't mix.

why was they taken on an adult holiday.

There must be some evidence, otherwise  he wouldn't be a suspect.
However that evidence clearly isn't very strong and might even be completely false, but only a trial will establish this.

Maybe so.....but I dont think there is ever going to be a trial.

As in my pervious post they have been saying they have evidence since 2020.

well seems we wont have to wait another 4+ years

if they are going to charge CB it will have to be soon according to CB lawyer he could be back on the streets as early as spring.

As I suspected and thanks for confirming.  If CB is never tried for the crime of abduction and murder of Madeleine McCann then he will never be clearerd and will always be considered the culprit by many, no matter how scant the evidence is.  That’s something the McCanns have had to endure too of course, but I’d be willing to wager a largish bet that if the public were asked in a survey now what they think happened to Madeleine McCann more would say “abducted and murdered by Bruckner “ than “dumped in a bin by Gerry McCann”.  I think it would be a tragedy on top of tragedy if this case is never heard in court and can see no reason why anyone would actively hope that the German investigation fails to solve the crime and bring a successful prosecution.

What gave you the impression it was an adult holiday?  And what has booze got to do with anything?  Certainly booze and conducting a police investigation don’t mix, maybe that’s why the Portuguese investigation was so slipshod,if the extended lunch breaks by PJ plod were anything to go by.

Yes Brueckner should be tried based on evidence so scant that there are more sightings of Gerry abducting Maddie than there are Brueckner.

I find it curious that Maddies murderer (as agreed by the three expert investigative forces based on ALL the evidence) could be out on day release within a matter of weeks, & yet the McCanns have absolutely nothing to say about this? Maybe they got better legal advice than Hazel B...

Well, your entitled to your opinion...but

IMO, he will be cleared...because HCW has no evedence its the profile they are trying to fit ..not the crime.

By the way....still no evidence of abduction...that would have to be proved that CB commited perfect crime in the so called abduction.

Wishful thinking the public think Maddie was abducted....

You only had to read the thousands of comments on MSM articles to see what the public thought...even to the point comments are no longer allowed.

Good point.

It would be interesting . what HCW reaction or words would be if...CB did end up back on the streets.

The profiling of a paedophile is interesting when there is no evidence that Madeleine was a victim of paedophilia.

He can’t be cleared without a trial.  You don’t want there to be a trial to hear the evidence against him.  He will therefore always be the prime suspect in this case, unless someone else is convicted of the crime (highly unlikely that’s ever going to happen).  Comments on social media do not represent overall public opinion, this can be seen time and again on other conspiracy subjects.
