I'm going to revert to being a McCann apologist temporarily here and agree that for her at that moment she would have been in a blind panic and wanting to raise the alarm as quickly as humanly possible.  Picking up not one but 2 sleeping two year olds at that moment would have been a practical impossibility.  Madeleine was gone and could not be found anywhere in the apartment.  She needed to raise the alarm as quickly as possible and ran out knowing that her husband and their friends would be back at the apartment within moments, leaving not enough time for her sleeping children to come to harm in those short moments. 
Still think they staged the whole thing though.  The fingerprints were left on the window to make you think she couldn't have possibly been that stupid.  Reverse psychology innit.  Cunning.

The valid reason she didn't 'bundle the twins up' is because there were two of them. It's as simple as that.
Quite why she didn't scream the resort down, however, is another matter.

She ran out even though she could have screamed for help...[apparently it was in sight]

Yes they did leave the children by themselves I wouldn't have but they all did.  I think they were lulled into a false state
of security when on holiday as seems to happen to a lot of people.  A quiet safe child friendly site hardly anyone around seemed ideal didn't it. 

I think if I found my child missing from her bed and the window which was always kept shut open then the first thing I would think of is that someone had got into the apartment.  I don't blame Kate for thinking Madeleine was abducted as she couldn't find her anywhere.  She spent time looking as you would do just in case.  Kate said she thought Madeleine could be hiding cowering somewhere away from the person who had came into the bedroom.

Of course she ran.  Shouting from the apartment wouldn't guarantee they would hear her or make out what she was saying.

She left everything as it was panic set in.

Curtains pinned behind the bed and chair?  How would you manage to close or open the curtains?  I wonder if they were in that position after the Police had searched the room.

Jemmied window is a saying you would use if you thought someone had broken in.  Actually the blinds could be opened from outside so in fact they were broken as they should only be opened from inside.
