Now there's an idea - a MM memorial Centre attached to the house.
Yes, good idea except it would probably provoke a national outcry and heap even more hatred on the McCanns than ever before.  So I don’t think that’s very likely to happen.  Perhaps you can suggest alternative ways they could personally benefit from the fund without anyone cottoning on.

I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

Apparently there's only a handful of [ censored word ]s so I can't see there being a national outcry, more likely a collective sigh of indifference.

With a spa, obviously.

These could be claimed whether or not the case was closed with a successful conviction of a hapless hobo right?  So does not go any way at all to explaining why the McCanns haven’t apparently welcomed the news of a convenient patsy to erase any lingering doubts that they may have been involved.

Don’t worry, the tabs would have an absolute field day if there was any hint of misappropriation of fund money and the ranks of your army would grow again exponentially.

Public perception.
In reality the fund is a sideshow now. Apart from it being obselete, given that there's no 'investigation' being conducted, it is a going concern and has been the minute they decided to start investing.
The point being, investing is fraught with risk, so one could argue that they're gambling donations from the public, albeit seemingly moderately successfully. We've seen this last couple of days how quickly the value of investments can be obliterated, so it's a valid point.

But to answer the question, benefits in kind (company cars, private medical insurance, or subsidised travel) and reimbursed expenses (No tax liability arises on reimbursed expenses if properly documented) aren't generally itemised in published accounts, so this could be a vehicle to extract money legally. *

*The General is not stating that this is the case, but merely pointing out tax efficient, legal options. Other options are available. Your home is at risk if you set fire to it.

You're still side-stepping the question.  What has any of this to do with the McCanns apparent distaste for the German investigation?  You and your lot have cited a desire to keep raking in the cash as the primary motivator for not wanting a successful conviction of a convenient patsy.  I have tried to explain how that theory is nonsensical but clearly I haven't done a good enough job.  If the McCanns are only in it for the money then whether or not there is a successful patsy conviction is immaterial.  They still have control of all that luvverly lolly either way and could still diddle the funds with CB doing a 20 year stretch.  That being the case why would they not want someone else proven guilty for the crimes they themselves committed?  It's surely the cherry on top of the huge pieful of cash is it not?  A pie that they can pretend to slice up for various charities whilst secretly gorging themselves silly on the yummy rich contents without a soul realising with the added bonus of being cleared once and for all of all their heinous crimes.
So - now do you get it or are you sticking to your illogical guns??

They've had seventeen years to market Madeleine related tat but I have to say though that their marketing team has badly dropped the ball on that one as the wristbands went out of stock around 2008.  That said, another advantage of a successful conviction of the patsy (which apparently they aren't keen on for inexplicable reasons know only to themselves - and the General) is that Kate could write a new book or add extra chapters to her existing one detailing everything they had been through up to that point and bringing the story to closure.  Kerching, loads more money to spend on swimming pools and cinemas, but no, they don't want closure, they just want to drift on aimlessly, never cleared of suspicion by the nasty trolls on the internet, never being able to simply just get on with the rest of the lives because well, they simply love living in purgatory obviously!

There's too much MACA hyperbole, angst and exaggeration in your post to do it justice.
If you pare it down I may be able to assist.

Sorry, your tendency to overblown exaggeration and verbosity must have rubbed off on me.  I think you got the gist nonetheless and are simply unable to come up with anything approaching a logical explanation for why two guilty people would not warmly embrace the German investigation if it meant someone else went down for years for the crime they themselves committed.  Saying "because of the fund" is illogical.  It makes no sense.  A successful conviction of a patsy could even result in MORE money coming in as my previous post mentions.  And - they can misappropriate funds with a patsy in jail no problem, nothing stopping them (apart from obviously everything that's stopped them doing so in the last 17 years).

Let me ruminate on it. It's actually quite complex the more I think about it.
I will say this, some aspects of this case, some 'evidence', clues, reports, statements may seem pertinent, but won't be but may be intriguing in and of themselves. 'Red herrings' to coin Kate's phrase (even this has been picked apart - see, now I'm at it).
As with the 'plausible explanation' I just wrote on the other live thread on this dying portal, sometimes it's just coincidence. Murat, for example, for all the Tapas finger-pointing, it turns out that he's just an odd bloke who speaks the lingo, probably injected himself into it busy-body style and got bummed by Jane and Russell for his trouble. Coincidence.

Right, well I'll look forward immensely to your wise ruminations on the subject....in due course (meanwhile going puce in the face holding brreath with anticipation).
