Have you been drinking?
I don’t drink. Which part of my post did you fail to understand?

Was Freud still raping and abusing young girls in old age? We simply don’t know.

Do paedophiles ever lose their urge to abuse?

Knowing what we know now isn’t it odd behaviour that he even invited the parents of a probably dead child to dinner?
The three women who came forward with rape allegations about Freud claimed their abuse occurred between the 1940s and the 1970s.  Astounding that you think an ancient old celebrity (who we don’t even know was residing in the area at the time) was a more likely candidate for the abduction and murder of Madeleine than the current prime suspect who is a known paedophile, burglar present in the area at the time and who committed a violent rape in PdL itself.  If anyone has been drinking dear Faith it surely must have been you.

If you are now apparently willing to accept the possibility that Madeleine woke and wandered into the hands of a murderous paedo on the streets of PdL please explain to us why you don’t think it could have been CB and is much more likely to have been 83 year old ex-Liberal MP, author and TV presenter Clement Freud.  Another question for you to ignore.

McCann supporters seem to believe the police are allowed to just bash their way into convicted sex offenders homes & interogate them, every time a child is reported missing. Even when there's absolutely nothing to suggest that they in particular could be responsible for said child's disappearance. It really is quite stupid. As of May 2007 the PJ knew nothing of Brueckner, other than that he had molestation convictions dating a decade prior. He was never arrested for breaking into apartments so they had no idea he was doing that. Nor had he been arrested for raping DM at that time either. Put simply there was no good reason to suspect him in particular. But McCann supporters will never be satisfied with that.
Your contention that police don’t just go around questioning known sex offenders when a child is missing is contradicted by the article posted by Brietta yesterday
Quote: “a Policia Judiciaria source told local media: ‘ Nearly all the Portuguese nationals and foreigners living on the Algarve with sex offence convictions were questioned at the time.”
So there you go.  Targetted enquiries.  Is that “really quite stupid “ in your view?  If so complain to the PJ because that’s their claim.

According to you the anonymous police source was Amaral, & so couldn't be believed. So which is It?

One can read, thank you.

Very few would lower themselves to spit on a rapist and paedophile. If the creature Brueckner is proven to be all that and a child murderer to boot you will have outclassed yourself in your comments.

Brueckner was free and on the loose on May three.
You don't know where he was and what he was doing ... yet again without fail you leap to his defence in almost every post you make.

It really is not a good look to worry about ''a miscarriage of justice'' for the rapist and child molester while throwing buckets of poisonous innuendo at
  • all and sundry who are not Bueckner
  • while coming up with every excuse in the book and some even Brueckner hadn't thought about yet as you leap to his defence
Do a fact check ... just reread the content of your posts.

One tends to go on the evidence of these things but if the German police, the Met police and the Portuguese police can’t find enough in almost eight years enough of it  to even question Brueckner then it probably doesn’t exist. Lest we forget it only took the combined efforts of the Portuguese and German police a few short years to convict him of the rape of Diane Menkes. One hair it took to convict him and they obviously don’t even have that in this case.

For clarity I don’t think that Freud had anything to do with the disappearance of Madeleine but if his offending record had been known about at the time he certainly should have been investigated. Much like Brueckner. The difference is Brueckner has been investigated and after almost eight years the police of three jurisdictions have been unable to find enough evidence even to arrest him.

Brueckner is a vile specimen who I certainly think is safer behind bars but there is, to date, not enough evidence to link him to Madeleine’s disappearance. That’s not supporting or cheerleading for him, that’s simply the truth and it is rather linear thinking on your part to assume that it is.

I believe none of the above of course but if past offending puts you in the frame then Freud certainly should have been there.

Whether it’s true or not (and as the Pj were so rubbish in the early days I very much doubt they visited all or any paedophiles in the area) the concept of visiting paedophiles and eliminating them from their enquiries in such circumstances was clearly not a “really stupid” one as you claim, it is in fact fairly standard police procedure.  That’s why the mystery spokesman mentioned it, in an attempt to portray the Portuguese police as rigorous and competent.  Understand now?

Was he even there on the night of 3rd May?  You seem certain of it so please provide the evidence, eg his phone pinged on a nearby mast.

Do you understand the difference between no evidence and not enough evidence?  One knock for yes, two for no will suffice.

It's the 3rd of May 2007. Madeleine has just been reported missing. What reason is there to suspect Christian Brueckner?

If they are unable to provide an account of their movements or an alibi for the night in question you keep them in the frame.  Maybe you confiscate their phone and laptop and examine that if you have strong grounds for suspicion, see what that throws up.  How do any cases result in a successful conviction when most suspects exercise their right to silence, in your view?

No. The police can't confiscate items without a warrant. And they can't obtain a warrant just because a private citizen, against whom there is no evidence, exercises their right to silence.

Did you read what I wrote?  If they have strong grounds for suspicion which would indeed constitute having some evidence.  Seriously, how do you imagine any cases are solved when suspects exercise their right to silence? if it’s really stupid to pay a visit to all the local paedos when a child mysteriously vanishes in the night why do you think the PJ did it (allegedly)?  Is it because they are really stupid?

What reason is there to clear him?  Everyone is a suspect remember?
