Nice little drunken piley on going on last night I see. Play nice ladies, or the mods might wake up and they'll take the crayons away again.

Amaral's theory was that Madeleine woke up and hearing her fathers voice got up to see where he was stood on the sofa and fell.  So if anyone was to find her it would have been Kate.  So where did Kate hide Madeleine?  It would have had to be a good place as all those people disturbing the evidence would have charged through the apartment.

In bold: how / why?
....and I notice you're still bloody fumin about the crime scene being contaminated 17 years on, which is up to you obviously, but at that precise moment I'm sure everyone was keen to 'search' for wee Maddie and it wasn't necessarily a crime scene.

It was Kate who found Madeleine missing from her bed.  Kate searched the apartment so if Madeleine was on the floor after a fall Kate would have found her.

You keep bringing it up - and it wasn't a crime scene - apparently everyone was hairless looking in cupboards and in the toilet cistern.
Did anyone look in the washing machine Gerry broke?

The washing machine he put the body in and then carried to the tip on his back.  I expect someone somewhere has a video of him doing it.

I think you might find that was supposed to be a refrigerator, although was said to be sometime later. If it ever happened, of course.

He put the body in the washing machine first and put it on a high temp wash to get rid of the incriminating DNA. That’s how it broke.
