I remember a massive surge of hate for them, but yes of course many victims of crime do enjoy a surge of support.  Do you think that the McCanns are like Harold Shipman then, is that the inference you are attempting to draw from my comment?

In your opinion do you think the police EVER admit that a an arrested individual was offered special favours for information? Further how much time did Busching serve for people trafficking? Was it comparable with other sentences for the same offence?

I see, so if the police say that an individual received no special favours then they are always lying, right got you.  Busching drove three people across a border when he shouldn't have.  He wasn't as far as I know bundling 100 Vietnamese into the back of an airtight truck every other week and driving them across continents.  I don't know what the usual sentence is for a crime such as his, you tell me.  Busching claims he took his information regarding CB to the McCanns' detectives.  If they have denied this, then feel free to post the link.  But - even if he's lying, and even if the police are lying, and even if he's a despicable people smuggler, and even if he should have come forward sooner, that doesn't mean he didn't see those videos or that CB confided in him.  We know the videos almost certainly existed because they helped bring DM's rapist - CB - to justice.  Any suggestion that Busching himself raped her is fanciful to say the least as I demonstrated in a post a few days ago.

I think that sentence would be better written as “neither of them includes a hobo”.  That’s true.  However Spam’s theory and Amaral’s theory cannot both be correct.  So for Spam to say that Amaral solved it back in 2007 is nonsensical, unless of course what he really means is that they both believe the McCanns dunnit, but as far as the finer details of how, why, when, where etc are concerned these don’t really matter, and are just trivial details to be brushed under the carpet.

Perhaps the Greek police were asked by the media if Busching had received any special favours?  I really don’t think it matters one way or the other actually, and I think giving criminals incentives to spill the beans on others is accepted practice is it not? 
As for sentencing you’re the one implying he got a lighter sentence than he should have, not me.  Again not relevant.
The video did exist unless you can come up with a plausible and logical reason why it did not, bearing in mind the detsils of the rapes they described matching those of HB and DM and the forensic evidence that confirmed it was the rapist they said they saw in the video.   Who is this English bar owner?  I know nothing about him or his role in this.  Is he a fine upstanding sort then?  What’s his name?  Is he still alive?  Tell me more.
