If you're suggesting that the dogs were following the scent down the path of people involved in an abduction you have to explain the dogs' interest in 5H and 4G after sniffing the very same scent source.

5H is where the Payne's stayed.
4G is where the McCanns moved to (on Saturday?).
But with everyone coming and going it would difficult to make any sense of it.  But ....

Was 4G immediately opposite 5A ...near where the fags were found on the balcony ?

Was apartment where IIRC Mrs Fenns niece observed two men on a balcony looking towards 5A?

Or

The apartment where a man was observed coming down the back garden and looking around himself before very quietly shutting the garden gate ?  He was unaware that he was being watched.

None of the above. 5H was upstairs in block 5, 4G was upstairs in block 4. The Paynes were in 5H, the McCanns in 4G from 5th May. Looking from the Tapas restaurant across the pool block 4 is on the left, block 5 on the right.

Did the dogs follow the scent of the blanket and the towel?

Can the experts on the PT dogs please tell us when the PT dogs went to 5H and to 4G?

- As you know, yesterday, 8 May 2007 at 23h45, the undersigned joined a search effected by the GNR dog team which targeted Blocks 5 and 4 of the Ocean Club resort and adjacent areas, with the objective of trying to reconstruct the possible route taken by the missing child on 3 May 2007.

Not really because these items were held by the dog team handlers.  There is no record of the McCanns getting these items back.

Does anyone have a cite for KM providing the GNR/PJ with Madeleine's bath towel? She only makes reference in her book to offering the GNR dog handlers, first on the scene, the pink blanket (which they took) & some of Madeleine's clothes (which they didn't take).

Where does it say that Rob ?

It says the item was put in a plastic bag.  But there is no record that i have seen where the items are returned.  I read there were two dog teams (GNR and The PJ) so I assume one had the blanket and the other the towel.  I could be wrong but that is my understanding ATM.

Seems the first GNR team with dogs arrived around 02.30am on the 4 May and were given a pink/orange comfort blanket to assist their search while the next team arrived at around 11pm on the 4 May and were given the Turkish bath towel which had apparently been used to dry Madeleine after her bath.

How would anyone know Madeleine had used it if it wasn't one of the McCanns?

5A was a crime scene. At 11pm the McCanns were in 4G, having given their televised appeal a short while earlier.
The towel was in 5A. There is no reference to either parent being asked for another item to scent during that evening. Neither of the dog handlers identifies the scenting item as being pink.

The handing over of both items were done on the first night 3-4th May.  (*Correction: In the files it says the towel was picked up later that day.)
