Correct, the police in the UK have access to such services day and night either by telephone or with a delay in person.  The same system operates in our heath service too and for emergency social service call-outs.  The disappearance of a child is in fact treated as a life or death emergency in the UK. Is it not in Portugal?

Yes of course I meant an interpreter, sorry. So in Corringham, for example, you can have an interpreter half an hour after calling at 1:00 in the morning ? I'm impressed.
Well, then there's no excuse to suspect the translators of the PJ files. Money can resolve it easily at any hour.

You can have an interpreter by phone even faster than that.

And I have no doubt that Scotland Yard, having realised that it was pointless relying on translations done by people who cannot find the equivalent word to 'odisseia' or spell 'interpreter' accurately, have indeed spent some of the cost of the Inquiry on getting proper translations done. You would expect a professional police force to use professional fully-attested translators in important work. I would have expected it of the PJ as well but my expectations have been somewhat shattered.

Why didnt they use the professional translations at a cost of 100 k that the Mccanns had done?

Which questions and why ? The first question for example ? The witness isn't expected to tell the truth !
See the interviews in August, off the record.

Where did you get that idea from?

Oh really, can you not actually work out the reason for that?

Deary me!

When Scotland Yard began their review, they could have not been certain whether the McCanns were involved or not. Do you really think that using translations commissioned by potential suspects is the way that the UK Police act? If you do think that, then you are dafter than I had actually credited you.

Only having conducted that full review of the case have the SY team been able to eliminate the McCanns as suspects or persons of interest, a fact some cannot seem to comprehend or accept for some odd reason.

That's true. you can get a readable, plain English translation, no mis used technical terms, no archaic misused words, simple, plain English. You pay your money, you get someone in command of the language.

Oh dear. Unable to answer the logical points I have made. Unable to explain why you are unable to work out that the McCanns' translations would never have been used by Scotland Yard in these circumstances.

Oh deary me.

And pretending that my pointing out that failure to understand basic procedure is abuse. Sorry that is really funny.
