Welcome to Paradise!
« on: August 22, 2013, 02:58:06 PM »
Hi All

As mentioned on the Simon Hall forum, I joined specifically following the news that someone I had erroneously supported for years had suddenly admitted guilt.

I am an author (though novels not true crime) with a massive (obsessive - some might say) interest in MoJ.

Though I got Simon Hall wrong, I remain smug about 15 years of wm3 support ;-)

Nice to meet you all...

A belated warm welcome to the forum Joff.  Are you following any other potential moj cases at the moment?

I've always been interested in Luke Mitchell, which throws up some doubt however I've never really followed it in any great depth. Also, I've followed the Derek Christian case quite carefully since the Crimewatch (how we caught him) programme aired which it turns out seems to be full of holes.

Simon Hall has always been my main focus in the UK which I have strongly supported, writing letters, more recently contributing funds and look, ahem, where that got me!

Nick Rose and Kevin Nunn are others of interest...

Do any new pages ever open up on here re different cases?

Hello there.

Thanks for the welcome, may just post a new thread when I get five minutes.

Which MoJ cases would members say they believe in the most at present? A small poll would be interesting....

Ooh er, Joff....so YOU were "the dozens of generous supporters" who contributed to Mrs H's begging bowl. I hope you get a refund, I have it on good authority that your donation was spent on a brazillian and some pringles.   8(8-))

Sadly Shona, I suspect I was sucked in as far a contributing was concerned. That being said (and having reread everything on this forum) I was unaware of the issues that people may have had with Mrs Hall previously. I was contributing at the time to help out in a case I truly believed in.

Be interested in knowing which cases in general people who use this forum currently believe strongly in.

Simon had a lot of support on this forum but, unfortunately, the current wife picked us off and insulted us, one by one, until we gave up. Even John, who took endless crap and worked solidly on the case. It caused some of us to query her motives...every time Simon seemed to be on the home straight, "the wifey" would introduce some spurious "evidence" (e.g Zenith) and send him back to square one. To keep him where she wanted him? Who knows? But the damage is done.

Still, it undoubtedly still begs the question - why confess now after twelve years of convincing people it wasn't you...?

Perhaps, as his Mum has said, he just didn't feel that he could battle on any longer. And it can't help when you've got some fruitbat telling the world that you're suffering from PTSD because you wore an elasticated tie when you were six.    8(8-))

Sadly it's not the Man Booker, rather the Novel Prize, which is a national prize for new authors who have been previously unpublished. Got to the last five from around 4,000 entries which is not bad.

So I'm afraid no-one wins a prize and you are not even close with identity issues!

Blimey, I thought I'd backed a winner then, (young female author with own website, new debut novel "Yours  is Mine" just published)... well one out of five ain't bad, only four more to gamble on. Congrats on your achievement though... whoever you are !

As you can see the forum is obsessed with McClann warfare at the mo, so its hard to get a word in edgeways or generate interest about other issues. Even new member journalist Dhingra has only had a lukewarm response to the Cardiff Five so far, but give it a shot with your own hobby horse(s), and see how far it goes.

I don't know whether Paradise is the right word for this place.. it feels more like Purgatory sometimes.
It's one of them cases, in'it... one of them f*ckin' cases.
