no they haven't said it word for word, but as the forensics are in the files and they have said they have read  the files, then they have seen the forensics..are you following...or do you suggest that they are not aware of the forensics....like they forgot about them

What they have said word for word, through Redwood live on tv, is that Maddie was a victim of stranger abduction and there is no evidence that she is dead...forensics or not that is  pretty conclusive

Yes, it is important.  The dogs can be an good tool but in this case it was a waste of money deploying them.
